Eight former Canes Invited to NFL Combine

By Matt Porter, Palm Beach Post
Jan/29/15 08:48 AM

Eight future proCanes received invitations to the NFL Scouting Combine, the Post learned.

Among them are six seniors – defensive end Anthony Chickillo, wide receiver Phillip Dorsett, offensive lineman Jon Feliciano, cornerback Ladarius Gunter, linebacker Denzel Perryman and tight end Clive Walford of Glades Central High – and two underclassmen who declared for the NFL draft.

Running back Duke Johnson and offensive tackle Ereck Flowers, both juniors, will be in Indianapolis from Feb. 17-23.

Lot of questions about how the heck we lost so many games with all the talent up there.

On different note, much as it would be nice to have Duke down here, I hope the kid goes to better team than Fins. They suck worse than THE U. I would like Duke to go to a winner.

It would be smart for Dallas to take Duke seeing as how they will likely have to part ways with DeMarco Murray to pay Dez.

Did Mongo and Warlord share a tie, shirt, and suit jacket for the photo?

Duke is not Mercury Morris nephew Alfred; Dude's barely 207 lbs. Duke truly has a small frame; you can look at his wrist & ankle and see that his bone structure is, relatively speaking, slight. Going to Dallas would have him worn out. He needs to go to a team that can bring him out gradually, a la Reggie Bush. Utilize him as 3rd down back, and on pure throwing downs. He can even go out in motion for mismatch with LBs and go out wide. In another 2 to three years, you can slowly add 15 lbs of muscle and only then can he be considered an every down back. A consideration that may not prove compatible for an NFL career for Duke longer than 5-6 yrs.
