In terms of TALENT in my mind. Any way that unit gets fixed by year two? I mean THAT is supposed to be HIS (Mario) calling, yes? Lots of injuries this year, no Zion at all. No depth. We all dream of a 2001 type line again which takes time. Can someone with a little more insight tell me if we should expect a vastly different product next year, or probably more struggles? Probably not a lot of “good” offensive lineman make it to the portal?

Probably not in year 2. Year 3 for sure. I was checking the 2022/23 recruiting class and Mario already has 5 OL coming in. All really big guys too. So this is where Mario is at his best

If we had Zion, Rivers, Clark, Campbell, Scaife across the line it would be much much better this year.

Campbell, Rivers, Clark, Cooper could form a nice group then see if we get a portal starter or if one of freshman is ready.

There's no reason why it can't get turned around in one offseason. Fans like to focus on individual talent, but having a decent OL is more about everyone knowing their assignments and working well as a unit. Coaching is the key. You can have a pretty good line with mediocre talent. It's also possible to have a ton of talented linemen on a unit that sucks.

We need to add Samson to the haul we already have, and then hit the portal for some older studs. The only OL on this year team that should play next year is Rivers and Cooper

Are getting older studs realistic in the portal? Maybe i am wring but it feels like stud skill position guys are in abundance in the portal, not offensive lineman and if that is the case, that means its about recruiting and development which takes time

No clue but I’m sure there will be a few, we just need to land them

We wasted a bunch of time on "bad in, bad out" and hoping these guys would magically get better over the past five years. It will take a while to get a coescive unit. Most of what we need is somewhere else at this time and will have to be corralled.

Is Zion 100% gone? I still don’t get what happened this year.

If he stayed I’d feel much better about the left side with him next to a hopefully healthy Rivers. But is he just going to transfer or take a 6th round draft pick

Mario is recruiting that OL at a high clip.

I expect atleast size wise for us to be much much different.

I still think he needs atleast 1 or maybe even 2 out of the portal for sure 1 plug n play tackle imo. Have no clue why he played good guy n brought what he brought from Oregon and not 1 starter....dude from Oklahoma took their starting qb like f yall im out.

Man how could you look at this team and point to one thing as being the biggest problem. I can’t make my mind up lol

Look at that Oregon line. We needed atleast one of those guys and Mario and mirabal couldn’t get any

no disrespect to the young man. But having Seymoure as a starting guard at the university of miami is a new low we’ve never seen.

Change in scheme + 1 or 2 guaranteed starters from the portal will do wonders. We need this OL recruiting class to come in, provide depth, and be ready for 24.

I made a thread about this but per Chris Stock, Zion has a knee brace on his left leg and is on crutches....

He wasn't on crutches last week but did have the brace

Campbell, for example, is being coached by his 4th position coach (Searles, Barry, Justice, Mirabal) and his FIFTH offensive coordinator (Richt/Brown, Enos, Lashlee, Gattis) once Gattis replacement is named.

That's ridiculous. None of the O-linemen on the roster have had the same position coach for more than 2 seasons. Not 2 years, but 2 seasons.

You also have to keep in mind that there's 5 of them and any 1 of them could tank the whole the thing.
