Since Ga Tech in 2023, I haven't felt like we know how to hold a lead when we are ahead. Mario/Dawson typically opt for that turtle shell rushing attack that is completely ineffective. Then every now and then they keep pushing like vs. Cuse last year or inexplicably throwing on 4th and 8 when a field goal seals the deal vs FSU. It's not just the lack of production or innovation that gets me. It's a failure to establish an identity when playing ahead with a defensible lead.

Personally, I think we should lean on our NFL-level QBs with multiple years as starters and give them the independence to read the defense and run the plays they think will maximize scoring, not consume the most clock per play. Beck is senior enough to know all the base air raid concepts, all the pre-snap, motion and post-snap reads, and exploit what the defense gives him. If that's a naked QB run like Beck ran for a score against USF, so be it. If that's a fullback dive by Fletcher or Lofton into the scrum, great. And if that's a go-route by Marion, more power to him.

Any other opinions out there?
