I found this pretty interesting. What do they know that we don't?

Miami Hurricanes (Open: 125/1, Current: 75/1): The ‘Canes have enjoyed so much success over the last thirty years that bettors will always come to the window willing to take a shot. But where did this drastic line shift come from?

“The Miami line stuns me, because they lost their top running back, top two wide receivers and have serious secondary issues,” said NFP college football analyst Dave Miller. “Their quarterback transfer from Memphis has impressed, and they could win seven games with luck...but this team has issues. I have no idea why the line would have jumped.”

75-1 is still a massive long shot. All it probably means is that some people took a flier on Miami at an even more absurd 125-1 and moved the line. Non-story, IMHO.

PS... Ha:

Florida Gators (Open: 30/1, Current: 50/1): Offensive coordinator Charlie Weis left Gainesville for the head coaching gig at Kansas, which could be one of the reasons why there appears to be little faith in the Gators’ 2013 title hopes. However, stability and experience at the quarterback position should give Florida an opportunity to make a little noise in the SEC this season.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish (Open: 18/1, Current: 25/1): A 16-10 record in two seasons as the head coach at Notre Dame isn’t the dramatic turnaround the Irish were hoping for when they hired Brian Kelly. But this team has taken steps in the right direction and signed another top-ten recruiting class this past winter. However, dates with Michigan, Miami, Oklahoma and the season-finale road trip to USC could spell disaster.

The only, and I repeat ONLY reason we have those odds is because we play in the special olympics of college football. Better known as the ACC.

There hasn't been any movement on Miami. I checked several sites and it's still 125/1, which was apparently the "send" number.

Here's a link to Olympic (thegreek.com) Use Guest/Guest for name/password and check the college football BCS odds. The Canes are still +12500

Keep in mind that futures odds are kind of like the candy store for sportsbooks. The take is high and the managers often like to ***** around, literally moving some numbers simply because you're bored on a slow day. I saw that all the time when I worked as sportsbook supervisor in the late '80s and early '90s.

In this case, a move from 125/1 to 75/1 at one site might have been one bet, perhaps a nickel ($500) or dime (thousand). Bovada is the worldwide name for the book formerly known as Bodog in the United States. That book is known for unique props but not exactly the highest limits you'll ever see.

Looks like we're playing a 25:1, and 28:1, a 12:1, and a 50:1.

Knock all those off and we should increase our odds to somewhere around 1,349,229,108,759,842:1.

Big name school that was dominating when a good amount of today's gamblers were growing up. Why not take a flier at 125 to 1.
