O-Line Changes Made

I don't know how many more games Kaaya can last getting hit like he was against FSU. We are in some serious trouble with that line...

i love how kehoe for the most part just sits behind the scenes and takes zero blame. never has he said its my job to get these guys to play better and its on me

he just put a first rounder in the league and 3 others playing for NFL teams

he is safer than Al at this point

we all knew this was a mess with young guys, he gets a pass with young guys just saying

He?

Flowers was just that talented. He did not recruit the ones in the NFL....

The Sh*t on the team NOW is all him and Folden.

i remember our o line being just as atrocious in 2013 as it is now. duke johnson was on an island when he get the ball the majority of that season. **** for three quarters against wake forest he could barely get back to the line of scrimmage. the back to back louisville games is where i lost it

If you really wanted to fix this ****, you would -

*Promote St. Louis to LT. He may not be a technician, but at least he's not going to let guys blow by him.
*Move Darling to LG. That is his money position. He'll be a monster there.
*Knighton to Center, replacing Linder.
*Linder to RG. He was really good there during the stretch run last year.
*Move Isidora outside (they've already done that).

Those, at least athletically, are your 5 best guys.

Keep Gall, Brown, Odogwu etc. as far off the field as possible.

Not to mention, Flowers was recently criticized for having poor technique coming out of college: What is really wrong with the technique of Giants offensive lineman Ereck Flowers? | NJ.com

The inefficiency with his movement leads to sloppy technique. It leaves Flowers overexposed and sapped of his power.

This makes him susceptible to both speed and power pass rushers. At the University of Miami, Flowers was able to compensate with his natural strength and athleticism.

On a play against Virginia, he held off a defender with one bent arm. That's won't work against the size and speed of NFL defensive linemen. Flowers will need to clean it all up to be successful at a difficult position.

"Instead of kicking and getting to a spot, exploding and getting engaged, upper body in sync with the lower body, being able to punch and make a stand, a lot of times he's all over the place in moving sections," said Duke Manyweather, a performance consultant with emphasis on offensive line. Manyweather works with the Giants' Geoff Schwartz and Weston Richburg in the offseason.

Looks like we're gonna be running a lot to the left.

I'm sure Bud Foster won't figure that out.

"Taking the sophomore’s [Linder's] place in the middle for the start of practice: junior Alex Gall."

St. Louis - Darling - Linder - Isidora - McDermott

That is the line we should be rolling with if they're all healthy. We need to see if McDermott can play tackle or not, we need to get St. Louis reps, we need to stop ******* around and put Darling at his pro position, and we need to get Odogwu and Darling off the edges so that Kaaya doesn't lose a leg.

After thinking some more about it (reading gogeta's post)

I would move St. Louis up, move Darling to RT (longer arms...and he was OK there last year), move McDermott to LG, slide Linder to RG, and move Knighton up to C.

I would use the same 5 guys, exept

Yeah I think you're right on Darling and McDermott.

Good to remember Ereck was drafted to be the "future" LT, as a Jints fan I follow him through the local NY/NJ papers on-line. He's mostly getting good reviews, especially so playing through injuries and gettin not only a late start in training camp and as the LT. He's also, as noted in the article a sponge for gaining help and technique advice. In November the starting LT will be back and they will probably move EF to RT, but maybe not if he continues to improve.
