Does it feel like we could still get a little stronger in our running game? Stats show we are running the ball well but some of that is against lesser opponents and when game is well in hand. I am still waiting for Damien Martinez to have that huge breakout game. Sometimes it feels like he is having to grind out some tough yards more often than I expected. Either way, could not be more excited about this team! LETS GO CANES!!! :neonu:

Is there any team that can;t get a little stronger? USF stacked their D to stop the run. Odd choice it seems to me, esp since they seemed to refuse to go away from it. Ok, we'll just let Cam light you up.

When your opponent is committed to taking away your running game, they leave themselves open to passing. Part of the logic is that passing is less guaranteed yardage than rushing due to incompletions, coverage, the QB being rushed by the pressure at the line, etc.

So instead of pushing the issue, you take whatever yardage the defense gives in other areas. Why rush for a yard or two when you can gain ten through the air easily because the bulk of their defense is in the box and your quarterback is accurate.

Oh I agree with that however, once teams see Cam will destroy you through the air it seems logical that the commitment to taking away the running games seems like a stupid game plan. Again, Im not criticizing at all, even though there are some really soft dudes in here taking high offense to my post(not you)

But if they give too much room, we'll gladly run it down their throats. That's the gamble they have to make.

I count eight in the box and I would like to start a fight with you over this.

FYZICAL teams can still run the ball against that front and average 8 yards per carry. Stop with the excuses. Cici needs to block three dudes. Cam needs to stop being lazy and he can lay out he strong side backer.
