No to Applewhite

If its Applewhite and not Fedora (or pretty much anyone else) I'm not coming back on this site. I'd rather just watch the games without knowing the background anymore. We just sat through 3 years of nepotism after 5 years of golden's homeboy hires. And now this?

I thought when Manny cleaned house it was because he KNEW what changes were needed on offense. On top of Applewhite, there's talk of adding Sedrick Irvin. Nothing Irvin, but I thought we were past this high school coaching ****. But no. One defensive coach is older than 39, both coordinators would be his homeboys and one of his offensive hires is a 39 year old old high school coach? Fck that. This bargain bin conference USA staff better not happen.

I dont care if he hired Donofrio. His specialty is offense not Defense. As long as he can make our offense lethal then I want. This is what I like about him:

-Been Under Herman
-Seen Briles work

I think if we do anything close to what Houston ran this year with our athletes we will win big. A goal would be for our offense to be top 40 year 1 and improve to at least the 20s / teens going forward.

From The Orange Bowl Boys Podcast, Scoop, @Roman Marciante really like Applewhite. They Invited Dar Orlovsky and he also said that if Miami ran Applewhite’s offensive system it would be lights out. I trust Roman ( who has been very critical of the staph and especially the QB PLAY) and I definitely trust Orlovsky who called our offense out. Will be happy with both Fedora/Applewhite. Prepare for a marked improvement over last year on O.

I hear you. Fedora is key. This D staff just strikes me as a bunch of guys that dont recruit well enough. Banda, Rumph, Patke & now Baker, none are big time recruiters. Simpson seems to get his numbers, but missed on Ingraham and Weaver and others. @Dwinstitles is right about recruiting at a high level and I dont see this hire/staff moving that in the right direction. We shall see.
 
We’ve been rittled with dumbasses the last 15 years coaching our team. No way I’m going to be happy with a dude who hired D’onofrio

As long as Hester is brought in I'm happy with whoever at OC. If Applewhite doesn't pan out a change can be made easily. Strength coaches don't bounce around as much as OCs/DCs etc.

I agree. That's exactly what I'm worried about.

Ya know.. Manny said something about getting guys that are good fits. I can't remember his exact words. But he was referring to his style of play or system. Recruiting immediately came to mind. I was told that Manny is very.. particular.. about who his staff offers. He won't even get in contact with, much less offer, some pretty high profile guys. They went from interested, to wtf is going on, to resentment. I kinda think Manny's saying trust the coaching, not the recruiting rankings. Thats fine but the coaching better be **** good then.

There's definitely gonna be a spike in threads about legit guys not being offered. Lets hope we end up with Seider & an overall elite recruiting staff on O.

I would be much more in favor of trusting the staff if his staff was at least hitting numbers every year on the D side... heck I'd take some low key baller 3*s sometimes, but this will be his 2nd year with ONLY 1 CB... in SoFL... and only 1 S committed, depth at DE & DT is still not good enough... so trusting him is pretty hard. Recruiting is his 1 weak spot and I dont think its been addressed.
