Mario Cristobal has had and was FIRED from ONE head coaching position and was 27 - 47 at FIU from 2007-2012

His AD Pete Garcia commented on firing Mario:

"He's done a very good job for this program, but we’ve gone BACKWARDS over the last year and a half. Over the last 22 games, we've gone 8-14."

THAT is the head coaching experience and record that Miami needs now ?

In 2013 Mario Cristobal was named ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH and tight end coach at Miami.

SIX WEEKS later he was GONE.....left his beloved Canes and went to Alabama, where he has been for the last 3 years.

Now everyone goes crazy about this 11/9/15 SB Nation article about how 30 HS coaches in South Florida respect and want Cristobal as the Canes next coach and he has all these great relationships.

Lets look at that.

Mario Cristobal - superstar recruiter and with ALL THESE RELATIONSHIPS in South Florida --

there are currently ZERO players on the Alabama roster recruited from Miami-Dade County.

there are THREE players recruited from Broward County.

THIS is the guy some of you are believing is the right guy to return Miami to national championship status ?

THERE IS AN A on Mario's shirt........NOT a U.... because he made the choice to be at Alabama, not Miami.

Cristobal has made no statement suggesting or hinting he would even be interested in coming back to Miami.

So, Why this infatuation ?

The RIGHT choice who has a record of PROVEN SUCCESS at Miami (51-20 ...4-0 Bowls) has already said he wants to coach the Canes and has already been working on a staff of young, aggressive asst coaches to produce CHAMPIONSHIPS !!!

Extremely solid post and great hi lights to the failures of Cristobal. He chose to leave us...

I just don't understand what the fascination is with Mario or why he's even being considered as HC. Recruits will come anyways if we land a proven coach.
