Al Golden not happy about reporter's question about lack of home-field advantage
It’s no secret there are plenty of Florida State fans that call South Florida home and many of them will be there Saturday when the Hurricanes host the defending national champion Seminoles at Sun Life Stadium.

But Miami coach Al Golden bristled on Wednesday when asked if he expected Saturday’s game to feel like it was being played at a neutral site because of those rival Seminoles fans.

“No,” Golden said after a long pause when the question was asked. “Obviously, we have great fans. We’re excited to be home and playing at Sun Life Stadium on Saturday.”

That said, the Hurricanes do expect Florida State’s fan presence to be felt this weekend.

Wednesday morning, Miami’s coaching staff had the Seminoles’ signature war chant playing over the speakers at the Greentree Practice Fields. Florida State’s Marching Chiefs—a 400-member strong band—will be at the game, undoubtedly playing the song as they have during past matchups in Miami.

Hurricanes players have said throughout the week they're looking forward to the experience of playing in front of what will likely be their first sellout crowd this season.

“It should be fun,” running back Duke Johnson said.

Said Golden on Tuesday, "I don't think there's any question we're going to tap into that stadium and the electricity and the anticipation and excitement. I mean, who wouldn't?"

A Miami spokesman said Wednesday morning a few thousand tickets for Saturday's game still remained available for purchase through the school, though they are expected to sell out.

Hate this mantra but, Perception is reality. Miami fans represent.

But it looks bad when we can hear their fans, on our third and short, going ape**** on the tv. 25-30% of the stadium shouldn't be the opponents fans for our biggest game, every year. I'd rather there be empty seats. Or recruits. Or underprivileged children. Or anything.
