a lot of what if's here but **** it i'm pumped, i know you all are pumped so here goes another useless excited thread

1)if Louisville beats UVA at 3:30 we clinch coastal

If we beat Notre Dame we're top 4

if we beat Notre Dame AND auburn beats Georgia(might actually happen) we will be 2nd in college football playoff ranking heading into Virginia game (we jump Wisconsin,Clemson,oklahoma, Georgia no doubt about it (if not in ap poll, definitely in CFP rankings

lose and we're out of the top ten

College gameday, Primetime, Canes vs Irish, 2-3rd ranking or CFP irrelevancy.

never been more excited/terrified

can't f'n wait

Hope all of us can take a step back this week in the buildup and just appreciate where we are. Things have not been perfect this year, but the end results are everything we could have asked for. One more win Saturday and we can start having big dreams about the year.

yes sir

a win this weekend and richt will be 3-1 against ranked teams (only loss FSU last season on the PAT miss)

17-4 so far as Canes coach and won the coastal already in second year (doing some assuming here but no way we don't win it)

with ND win...18-4 with wins over #5 team, #13 team, and #16 WVU in first two years is crazy considering 58-0 to clemson and giving up 59 pts to UNC two years ago

He was counting ND who is actually #3 in the CFB playoff rankings.
 
Yesterday's game was the important game in terms of the most realistic goal - ACC title . This week's game is icing on the cake. If this game was anywhere else at anytime else ( miami in prime time ) I wouldn't like our chances due to youth and inexperience in games of this magnitude but since it is a prime time game in the new Hard Rock I think we pull this one out. UM 31 ND 27 . The D comes up with a huge stop on the final drive to win the game and I think Micheal Jackson gets an interception to seal it .
 
our team doesn't seem to need motivation (coach brown said he doesn't believe in it)

but boy am i glad that we are underdogs again at home in prime time to a team we need revenge on for beating us last year ... feels like deja vu to this past week

IMO, there are basically 3 keys to the game:
1. How the miami run D does against ND's very good OL.
2. How our OL plays against them.
3. Play of Rosier.

We can win this game.

GO CANES!
 
If we lose a very close game, and then come back and win out including a win over CLemson in the ACC title game...we are still going to the playoffs.

No, we’re not. This is a playoff game.

If we lose to ND, they will take our place, even if we beat Clemson. The B1G Slurpers will put in Wisky.
 
I know I know, just win and everything else doesn't matter, but...

This is where Rankings matter... If the Canes were ranked 3-4 right now, they could lose to ND and Win out, including beating Clemson, and they would be in the playoffs.

If they're ranked 6-10 and lose, they need a lot to happen to be in.

They'll still have us outside the top 4, behind Clemson. Even if we win. They'll then say that ND wasn't as good as they thought, and their "quality" wins came against teams that weren't as good as they thought.

If the Canes beat VT and ND in back-to-back weeks then Miami will be #3 ... at least!

wisconsin is going to lose before selection day. I’d bet on it.
 
We beat ND we easily jump Clemson to be #3 . Especially if UGA smokes Auburn.

/watch Clemson lose to FSU.
