New Commit-Terrance Henley 2015 DB

I'm fine with taking this kid because he plays a position of need but the chances him being any better than a JAG are extremely low. Golden has regularly taken unknown kids after signing day and only one of them ended up being a starter, Armbrister. If he's a special teams contributor I'll be happy but I'm not expecting much, even if he qualifies.

You forget Corn Elder? After signing day take.

No I didn't, read my post again. I was speaking to the unknown players Golden has taken. Obviously Elder was known as he was pretty much a consensus Top 200 recruit.

Walter Tucker?

I think even the staff will admit they dropped the ball BIG TIME when it comes to our DB recruiting. No Deandre Baker/Khalid McGee/rashard Fenton (last min offer)/or Ronnie Higgins..but you give this kid a desperation offer.

It's boom or bust. Armbrister was a boom! Alexis and Corey king have been busts!

Corn Elder was a 4star like Mr Tennessee back to back years in basketball and football or some **** with other high level offers...

I like the kids film and speed and the fact that him being on our team gives us the inside track on his very talented cousin for 2017 I believe, but don't compare this kid who's only other offers were Tennessee St and James Madison to 4star Corn Elder(ranked the #7 ATH in the nation) with offers from O$U, Auburn, Tennessee, Nebraska etc...

Elder signed over a week after signing day not because he was mulling over options. He didn't have those "high offers" he claimed.

The INT from the 1:05 mark i beleieve on his Hilite tape told me everything i needed. His awareness , anticipation, and ball hawk skills were all shown in that one clip

Lol he did have those offers. He wanted a big time basketball school to offer him or Miami.

His other offers were Tennessee State and James Madison, how Al the master recruiter Golden stole him away is amazing.

You may not be an idiot but you are ill-informed of the nuances of the recruiting process.

When a HS student/athlete who has never previously been a can't miss recruit while being known as a non-qualifier and that word is out, not only would the pay sites ignore all the facts about you but D1 coaches steer clearly away from that athlete as well. Lower division D2a or lower have boatloads of exceptions to bring in these initial D1 non-qualifiers after NSD. As did Terrence. As a matter of fact, lower divisions get many if not most of their players after signing day. Thurston Armbrister came to us this way by sheer happenstance but in the same way, where in this Terrance case we got him by word of someone new on staff that communicates with all HS coaches and knows all about the nooks and cranny of what former "unqualified students" cut the mustard late. Plenty of these good quality ballas get clearance late. Lots of stud ballas go to the TSU and JMU of college Football because these types of schools take loads of these non-initial qualifiers, as that one D2a college and constant BCS NC that keeps beating D1 schools but just refuses to move up to the same higher D1 division from where he keeps beating those teams. They ain't moving knowing that the gravy train of these quality non-qualifiers won't be going up with them to that higher D1 level.

Bottom line this is a pick up that has nothing bad with it; it's all good actually.

There is quite a bit of misinformation in this post. TSU and JMU are both division 1 schools, they play football at the FCS level, which has the same qualifying rules as the FBS level does. DII has closed many of the non-qualifier loopholes, and are governed by the NCAA. Where there are exemptions and different sets of criteria is in the NAIA conferences. They can actually talk about recruits before they have signed etc.

Additionally, most DII schools announce their signings on signing day like everyone else. They do have more additions after signing day than FBS, but it is not some regular practice as this implies. Remember, they have much tighter scholarship restrictions than FBS level football does.

The school you are referring to is North Dakota State, I do believe, and they did move up from DII to FCS level and do dominate and beat BCS schools regularly, but not with late qualifiers and transfers. In fact, they only take a limited number of them and prefer to grow their players with redshirts and development.

Your last sentence is true in my mind though.

Don't care about the tape.

How many stars?

stars dont mean **** considering a majority of nfl players were 3 stars. look at sean taylor

IF another Sean Taylor were to ever come up, he will most DEFINITELY be a five star recruit.

Not really those sites dont have a clue, they miss every year. Not to mention nfl level scouts miss just as much. It always comes down to the kid having talent and then the right coaches being able to unlock that next level of ability. Long and short no one knows what a kid can do until he achieves it.
