Following up on
@JD08 's points, the UM Sports Hall of Fame is good. Hecht is...open...I'm not sure if it's "open to the public, in full. Last time I went, I just wandered around like I knew what I was doing and got into a lot of areas. Maybe call ahead and see if they do limited tours of certain areas.
You probably know where AllCanes and the UM Bookstore are. They are now under common ownership. Harry has moved over to the Hurricanes Team Store, which is a bit tricky to find the first time. I have been parking at one of the meters on Caballero, then you walk back towards US 1 and walk along the sidewalk (north) until you get to the store.
Also, CanesWear in Davie will definitely have Heat merch. Check out the website in advance if you want to see what they are likely to have, and then they have RACKS of older merch out on the sidewalk too.
As for restaurants, I tend to love the old classics like The Big Cheese. Mamey Miami is a new spot in the same hotel building along with Hurricanes Team Store. I was supposed to go there for one of the Zoom lunches, but I ended up not being able to travel from Atlanta and missed it.
I know that a lot of people swear by Havana Harry's on LeJeune just north of campus, I've always like that spot going back to when it was an Italian restaurant (first time I ever had roasted garlic with my bread service).
For the Heat game, consider some spots up around Wynwood/Little River, north of the arena. I'm a big fan of this spot called Blue Collar on Biscayne Boulevard.
I'll let some of the other SoFla locals make some restaurant recommendations too. I know what I like, but I'm not always up on the latest and newest hot spots.
