Imagine if the health department never visited your favorite local eatery

The FDA just took a drug company’s word on the safety of its latest potion

The accrediting agency of your school never visited, never looked at the instructional material, instructor credentials, nada

Military Chiefs never inspected their subordinate units, ships, etc., just took the Commanding Officer's word that they were war ready.

Crazy? Nope, “Compliance” the NCAA way and why ‘Cane fans get so frustrated. NOBODY from the NCAA has a schedule of schools they visit for an institutional compliance inspection. It’s all on the individual institution’s compliance office to “self-report” or for some outside source (****ed ex-girlfriend, rival school, eunuch.... I mean Chucky Robinson) to report to them. No “audit,” no “survey,” just sign some forms:

2016-17 Division I Compliance Forms | NCAA.org - The Official Site of the NCAA

Look at the EPA. It set emissions rules and tested the cars, but VW still cheated on the test. The Feds mandated automakers put explosives in your steering wheel, but didn’t follow through on making sure they were all safe…Hello Takata air bags.

The old saying of “the only thing done right is what the boss checks” comes to mind. NCAA Compliance’s “mission” is to keep a “level playing field” amongst schools, but in addition to no inspection regime, it doesn’t have mechanisms in place to provide tools to assure compliance. What mechanisms? Want to be a booster? Well, here are the rules, but in addition, you have to give us complete view access to all your bank accounts, charge cards, tax returns etc. Signing a grant in aid as a student athlete? Great, the same rules apply to you. Will this stop the bagman cold? Nope, but that quick withdrawal and subsequent deposit may be caught if you have an inspector/investigator who knows what they are doing in forensics.

Is this a pipe dream? Sure is, because the NCAA bends over backwards to the P5 and more specifically those schools with the $$$$. Marky Mark Emmert and his Funky Bunch are their TOOLS and will keep their “compliance” formula as is.

So when we hear “they know the rules” and “probation,” a lot of us 'Cane fans roll our eyes because we know it is not a level playing field: ‘Bama, O$Uck, Oregon, Oklahoma, etc. are not being looked at with the same level of intensity as Miami is and we KNOW that yes, THE FIX IS IN!

I've been curious about what your take on this would be. I couldn't agree more. It's more than frustrating and there is nothing we can do about it. The hypocrisy is unparalleled and the giant toilet in Bristol, Connecticut keeps the propaganda flowing. What else is there to say?

Great point about E$ECPN: They set the narrative and spin the stories to ensure their "investments" in certain schools pay off.

What do you expect? The school's the NCAA is meant to keep in line pay the ncaa's bills. You can bet that if drug companies are allowed to fund the FDA you won't get **** for oversight.

A logical person would expect a comprehensive oversight program which examines all institutions with the same level of vigor. I'm under no allusions that the NCAA will do this, my point being that what currently is in place IS NOT compliance as most people may expect, but a sham. In the military, I used to run the readiness reporting system for a very large air base. In great detail, unit commanders would report their unit's ability to go to war and would do this monthly, signing the record copies of the reports. What if the unit was inspected and these reports were found to be false? Bye, Bye command and career.

The leaders at 'Bama, Oklahoma, FSU, etc. know this and use their absolute control of their "host" cities to confidently sign the NCAA's forms. Yes, it was one of these forms signings, by Jim Tressel, which got him his show cause penalty. Trust me, Columbus is as locked down as any large city can be by O$Uck, the system failed them once. Think about it: You tipped your buddies in law enforcement to Maurice Clarett's weapons carrier SUV, ensuring you gave him a huge message not to talk. That much power makes you think anything can be swept under the rug, especially because YOU control the compliance department and the NCAA NEVER CHECKS.

Miami fans get tired of the "you cheat" label, earned for relatively innocuous items. Heck, Shapiro was small potatoes compared to other booster organizations and the big state flaghsip $$$$ schools. Phil Knight, or as Chip Kelly once referred to him on The Dan Patrick Show "the owner" of Oregon makes him look like a pauper and provides a huge competitive advantage to the Ducks, a competive advantage the NCAA is suppossed to curtail, per their mi$$ion statement.

The real problem for Miami in this charade is recruiting. 'Bama rep, FSU rep, O$Uck rep can confidently tell a recruit that suspensions, probation, Bowl Game bans and dismissal won't happen at their "schools" because they have excellent (wink, wink) compliance departments to "assist" players, but at Miami you will be on your own. The 'Bama's of CFB KNOW they won't be caught cheating because the NCAA never even looks at Troy or UAB and the 'Tide controls their city.

Again, the SYSTEM IS RIGGED!

With discussion of 'Bama and Clemson "advantages" percolating around CIS, thought this might be a good time to bump this...

Maybe sending this to the NCAA will be a great idea. Did you also yell, scream and kick when the Canes were playing and/or winning titles?

So do you have the same amount of hair you did FIFTEEN YEARS ago?

Do you drive the same car you did fifteen years ago?

Do you have the exact same job you did fifteen years ago?

Do you use the same phone as you did fifteen years ago?

Did you use "LOL" fifteen years ago?

Nothing is ever static; Cedric Dempsey is no longer the NCAA President and the television rights fees have grown exponentially since 2002. The arms race of facilities and 'recruiting inducements" has grown along with rights fees. The recruits are not late Gen X, looking for places to let loose, but now Millennials that need all the codling that the new $55 Million facility Clemson (bowling alley, barber shop, laser tag, put put course, NAP room) will provide.

Maybe you should check your dusty Enyclopedia Brittanica for it's entry on evolution...
