So no additional transfer counters after all? ... Our class may be ranked 12th. But it's going to end up producing a lot more college talent than most of the 11 ahead of us. Feels like a top 5 class to me, with LB the one exception. Even CB went from F to A with the Stevenson transfer.

Didn’t we have 3-4 spots to fill?

do we still have those spots ?
We only had 24 spots (25th was used for Jarrid). We signed 21 guys from class of 2021. Then we got 3 transfers (Stevenson, Johnson, and Rambo). 21+ 3 = 24.

It is possible that we get more transfers but we would have to wait until this summer and count them towards 2022’s IC.

It's possible that:

A. The NCAA gives all schools more 1-time and/or permanent relief on transfer ICs, and that Miami could sign more transfers who could either enroll in the summer OR the fall semesters

and/or

B. The NCAA gives us nothing, and we add another blueshirt transfer or two in the fall, just as we did with Jarrid Williams.

But as for immediate transfers trying to enroll in January, everyone got screwed.

I remember getting the Miami Herald the day after to see who signed where

A true pioneer in the recruiting reporting was Bill Buchalter at The Orlando Sentinel. Growing up in Orlando, I was fortunate enough to be able to read his stuff from when I was in high school in the early 1980s. A lot of the early Rivals/Scout way of evaluating and compiling data was based on what Buchalter and a few other guys did within the print-media world.

Not relaxing the counter caps while opening up the pipe on transfers is going to cause a ton of pain.

In his press conference, Manny pointed out there are a LOT of transfers with no program able to take them in because of the 25-class cap, even though nearly every program was well under their 85 team cap.

Manny then mentioned the only way around that right now is to count them forward (blue shirt). But that can only happen at the end of spring semester, and no program wants to take more than 1 or 2 of those max because they get deducted from the 25 class cap.

So the vast majority of kids in the portal right now will end up with no chair when the music stops. No scholarship = no school. That is not right.

They need to come up with some kind of modification to the IC or at least give a one time exception this year.

No, that can only happen in August.
