HC - Tom Herman. If we're going with my previous coaching criteria, this is my guy. The lack of experience is scary, but this man can flat-out coach and we need to get in on him NOW before someone else does.

QB/OC - Ken Dorsey. What?? Yeah, I know, but hear me out here. It'll be Herman's show, Herman's offense, Herman's mentoring. Right now his QB/OC is Major Applewhite who looks like he's being groomed by Herman to take over whenever he leaves. So let's do the same with Dorsey. Let him have the job title and pay raise and either take over here when Herman goes to the pros or leverage his time here for another run at the NFL coaching ranks.

DC - Jim Leavitt. After his stint with the 49ers, Leavitt's at Colorado this year as DC of the Buffs. Every team needs a nasty old kid-beater on their staff, right? Seriously, Leavitt can coach, he can recruit, he knows the area well, and if the admin's sphincters aren't tight about his past, he's my first choice.

Thoughts?

Not bad. Not sure about Dorsey as OC, however. Also, I assume Herman will want to bring in his own people. Leavitt would be great, but probably wants to get a HC job next. This would be a lateral move for him.

I'm sure he does, but his little incident may delay that for a while, or forever, so he might be get-able. Good point on Herman bringing his own guys - I just don't know who they are yet. Might have to go digging deeper into Urban's coaching tree.

I think Herman keeps Todd Orlando at DC, he has Sfla experience with Mario at FIU and his aggressive scheme matches up well down here in our recruiting base. OC I'm not sure. Dorsey might be a good choice under Herman because he won't be learning on the fly since Dorsey has never called plays and Herman runs his own offense even as the HC.

Was just gonna post Orlando's bio - he's a guy I'd be happy to have as well if Herman wants to keep him. Sort of an anti-Nof, if you will.

Only downfall for guys on this board is that Orlando still runs a 3-4 I'm pretty sure. But he does it the right way if that makes sense. If I'm not mistaken Leavitt runs a 3-4 as well in similar fashion. i know he coached LB for the 49ers and Vic Fangio's 3-4. A good defense we should try to replicate.

Let it be known I have ZERO problem with the 3-4 defense. I have a huge problem with how it was implemented under Golden.

Nope same here. It could even be better than the 4-3 if done the right way which i think he does. Just as long as we can keep Chad Thomas, AQM, and Gerald Willis on the field at all times next year.

I think Dorsey's next job is calling plays. I don't think you'll get him to go anywhere without those legitimate responsibilities.

You're probably right Lu, just an outside-the-box thought.
