Here are my in-person observations/"eye test" assessments from MSU v UM...

Attendance
- Stadium appeared ~30% full in total, not surprised
- Crowd was supportive of both teams mostly
- One bizarre jackass young lion from MSU was looking for fight and came very close to being turned into a toothless pretzel had police not stepped in and told him to behave...thankfully for him not one glance back afterwards

Overall:
- D wasn't responsible for this loss (I'll explain)
- O is worse in person than on TV... stomach churning bad
- Canes are low percentage success on both O amd D
-- NO RESILIENCE to overcome without perfect execution... every single body blow knocks on to several plays forward
-- Fumbles
-- Missed FG
-- Dropped passes
-- Holding/PI/PF flags
-- Missed tackles
-- Without perfect execution on every opportunity (because they are rare for Miami), above body blows are crunching strikes that lead to even more chaos and disappoinment
- Corching staff has lost fan base
-- Obvious at game and at watering hole afterwards

OL:
- Have no use for muppets who scream "modern spread" O...you don't know what you are talking about and can't be helped
- EVERYTHING on O is wholly enabled by superior OL play... our Canes do not have this, not even close
- To be successful in CFB, you need a road grading wall of big meat up front--period end of story--please stop embarrassing yourself by saying differently
- As in past years, this OL is below average in ACC on their best day

RB:
- Cam is a FB, not RB
-- Defender magnet.. combined with awful OL... we see awful run game results
-- For whatever reason, he doesn't have "elusiveness"

QB:
- King is not the answer under current structure
-- Not even an above average passing threat, compounded by WR/TE who can't catch
-- Lost his timing on "elusiveness"... he is either a step early or late to be positive impact in run game... and again OL is net negative

WR/TE:
- Rambo is big positive
- Mallory is big negative
- Harley was terrible
- Rest disappeared (probably play calling)

D overall:
- Tackling is awful
-- HOWEVER, O lost this game... can't put D out there that many times and expect stops... again see "perfect execution" and lack of resiliency

DL:
- Ineffective mostly against superior OL (see a trend?)
-- Few flashes, but meh

LB:
- Flashed on TFLs/sacks
-- But body blows... see above

DB:
- Flashed, but meh...body blows... see above

My feeling is at least one conversation is being had right now about firing James and Diaz... doesn't mean it will happen... BUT... I'm not certain they survive period between Duke and bowl game (but might mot habe enough wins to qualify)

It was a total team effort in the lose.
I sorta agree, but respectfully disagree...

Let me explain my schizoness..

- D is not elite by any stretch, they are below average
- Today's game is heavily slanted towards O success
- Had our Canes O actually sustained drives, game is much closer, probably even W
- Contest was winnable until dam broke... it was expected because MSU's O just had too many chances

Also, MSU defenders far superior in assignmsnts and tackling than our Canes... FAR SUPERIOR

One player to redeem himself was AB. No excuse missing the 27-yarder but bombed the 55-yarder later. Showed some mental toughness.

Patke will be sure to fix that!

Defense was getting off the field early. It was towards the end of the 2nd quarter when MSU adjusted from running up the middle to running counters and zone blocking. OC saw how hard the backside was crashing down and how the back 7 were so **** bent of flowing with motion and countered. Manny never countered it and MSU

On O. They gave those hitches all game and kept everything in front making this mistake prone offense drive the field. What happened when they got into the redzone? Penalties, dropped passes, missed fgs. What happened when MSU scored and King had to drive the field? He got restless and started forcing throws that got picked. Played right into MSU hands. Second half they took those hitches away everything else they gave the O in the first half and Lashlee didn’t adjust.

Coaches failed to adjust. Players lost the will to fight.

Really Fckn tired of everybody else’s guys being in the right place-AS OPPOSED TO OURS

Really need someone to explain to me how our O-line can be so bad with several high 4 star recruits and experience? Every other school seems to manage to patchwork effective lines. ****, UF had two starters out for a chunk of the game against Alabama and still ran all over them.

I think a lot of it has to do with play calling, and a sub par RB.

btw, I think the line was fine on pass pro today. I really think King’s height is a problem in the pocket.

how many "stars" a player has coming out of high school doesn't mean jack if he can't be coached correctly and developed to be
a top quality college football player.

The OL is a step above last year, but still not good enough to compete.

I think King did a fair job tonight and was let down by his targets.

Defense started strong, but once MSU adjusted, we were lost.

Receivers, outside of Rambo, completely **** the bed and made King look worse.

I feel like we are just missing discipline and leadership from a coaching stand point. Never saw fire out of Manny, and he never adjusted to what was given to him. I think we have the players, just don’t have the coaches to direct them.
