Hilarious

The request from Monarch High's head football coach was startling, a security guard recalled: Make a fake I.D. for star athlete Calvin Ridley so another student could take a test in his name.

Elvin McCray, who worked security at the Coconut Creek school and also served as the junior varsity football coach, said coach Calvin Davis asked for the favor as Ridley was being recruited by the University of Alabama, but first needed to pass the ACT college admissions test.

Shocking , I never thought this type of thing would be happening

The Genron network slowly being exposed. Don't tell Pete though he thinks he's still a stand up guy.

Drummond told ESPN that "everyone knows coaches are being paid something extra to bring recruits to campus" while denying he's one of them.

Many 7-on-7 coaches, including Drummond, drive carloads of players to campuses for unofficial visits. Some coaches are paid to work camps those schools host. Some claim to receive "gas money" from college coaches.

"And maybe something for McDonald's," Drummond said.

From the wayback machine in regards to genron.

I am in no way advocating paying players. Just make these people a part of the process as they want to be.

That dude used to openly recruit players on social media. This dumb ***** left a status on Facebook one time...

"Anybody who can play QB and wants to be part of the Monarch Knights program contact me."

And it was Ridley that he cheated for. He also tried to get the security guard at the school to make a fake ID for one of his players. Well the security guard happened to be a JV coach that was already bitter about not getting the head Varsity coaching position, so you know what he did. (snitched) Soon after that Davis "resigned".

$EC schools (Bama) will pick up the tab. Guy won't lose a dime. Absolutely sickening how dirty the game is, and how certain programs are untouchable.

Dead

I have zero respect for the NCAA and their blatant disregard of actual laws while trying to enforce their made-up, member enriching rules, but at the same time, the adults here need to help the kids do the right things, not enable them in rule-breaking and law-breaking.

Tragic.

True everywhere. It isn't a coincidence that a lot of the players interviewed barely speak English. It's sad and while this has been going on forever, No Child Left Behind only made it worse.

Supposedly this was the same scenario employed by one of our former QB greats so that he could get into school, at least that's what I heard from someone in his HS up north years ago. Not to mention any names, though and it was so long ago. Given the source and the smallness of the hometown, I believe the story is true.
