Per Pete is the new cornerback coach here. The three star tight end for heritage already tweeted something in reference to it but can't link it since I'm on my phone.

Any people know the situation at heritage and what this may do for us in terms of recruiting?

I know Rumph had a good relationship with Richt via Sony and some others

I honestly have no idea, but it's just really annoying that people around here banish any suggestion off the radar.

If we hire a proven DB coach to complement him AND we're finally able to start landing premier talent from American Heritage, then the Rumph hire could end up paying off. But a Rumph/Hartley combination coaching the DBs would be far too great a risk for such an important position group in Diaz' defense.

Assuming it's too late for the 2016 recruits from that school since Rumph's being hired less than a month before NSD, we'll need to land several of the following in future classes for this to make sense: Tedarrell Slaton, Tyson Campbell, Patrick Surtain Jr., Kyshaun Bryan, Marco Wilson.

Young Andrew Chatfield as well.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Four-star American Heritage Plantation defensive end Brian Burns wasn’t considering the Hurricanes, but that may all change now.

Burns’ head coach at American Heritage, Mike Rumph, is expected to join Mark Richt’s staff as the cornerbacks coach. Burns learned of the news while out at the Army All-American practices and gave a quick reaction.

“I am happy for him,” Burns said. “I am not trying to complicate my decision even more but I am going to put some thought into [looking at Miami].”

Burns had planned official visits to Georgia on January 16th, Florida on January 24th, and Florida State at the end of the month. He still would have two official visits remaining if he chooses.

Burns claims all three schools are even, but the Gators are believed to have a slight edge at this point.

Burns is rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports.com and is the No. 32 overall player in the country.

Burns has no interest at all. this is what happens when you suck for over a decade...today your typical high school football player has grown up in an era where Miami has been bad to mediocre annually.

I hear you, but UF is going to be crap once Muschamps recruits are gone and McWhatever puts his Colorado St stamp on the defense. He's got a real DL coach now at Miami and a Defense that will really utilizes the DE a lot...

I think getting rumph is a game changer, I feel like Miami can close on Eubanks and burns possibly with rumph here

All we need him to do is visit. He has two slots left for OVs. Rumph has to find a way to get us one of those slots. **** the **** kid was all but signed, sealed and delivered to UGA before Richt left. He cant hate UM that bad. I guess we will see.

If UF cant find a QB, they will be irrelevant and FAST.
