It’s a totally different style, both execution and environment, but Mike Leach and Mark Richt both enjoy diving boards.

Mike Leach is a gimmick that can do some interesting things elevating low-level programs for brief periods of time, but that's about it.

As opposed to 3 bumbs, a washed up Richt, and completely unproven Diaz? Yeah, we've sure been killing it with coaching hires for the past 18 years.

And how many times did we win the ACC during that period with our murderers row of coaches not named Mike Leach?

I'll hang up and listen.
Our having failed with other coaching hires doesn't make Leach great. You could make the same argument with other coaches as well:

"And how many times did we win the ACC during that period with our murderers row of coaches not named ______________"?
Fill in the blank with: Randy Edsell, Justin Fuente, Willie Taggert..... Guess they are all "GOAT"s too because we didn't hire them?

Mike Leach GOAT?🤣 :rk5i6fxwjlgev5j6.jpg:

Mike Leach has long passed the pinnacle of his coaching career.

Its not because he's not PC that's keeping him from coaching at greater P-5 schools....its his mediocre record in coaching and recruiting. Nothing in it screams "I'm your man."

His fans have to play wild WHAT IF games with his results instead of facing the reality of an overall meh record. .

There are numerous big time openings EVERY year.....and he is never even considered.

That says it all.

Leach never got a shot at a big name program because he marches to the beat of his own drummer and doesn't play the PC games. He's not "cool." He's not polished. He's just awesome. I'd much rather go 9-3 with Leach than with the other schlubs we've hired.
