Moving forward, they keep playing Mack & Day as Lucas and Antoine return; rotate Fitz more to lower Poyser’s and Omar’s snaps. JJ’s snaps would normally be higher. Not being afraid to put in Chris Ewald Jr for a dozen or so snaps in October games. Then By all accounts, Lucas will be ready for the FSU game.

Damari doesn’t need more snaps tbh. His effort and mental mistakes have been showing every time he is on the field. Don’t know what’s up but it’s doing us more than harm good, even when it’s only half-a-dozen plays.
Damari’s play is really puzzling me. There were times last year when he was the best cornerback on the field for us, but this year he looks completely lost. Luckily, we have great depth in that room.

Gonna push back on a couple notions..

yes, Mack has some potential and IF NECESSARY can be utilized; still, awful light in the ***, and clearly needs to develop physically. Bigger/stronger receivers could be a serious problem. If injuries persist, I'm sure his matchups will be limited.

Merriweather was not good, but his snaps last night are being blown into true freshman Zion Nelson v UF proportions.

Can Mack play nickel?

SJ played pretty well. I know he’s the new whipping boy but let’s judge fairly. He’s had bad moments and we’ve all discussed it but let’s not bury him if he plays well.
He really stepped last night. He is better served being the first guard off the bench and part of heavy packages.Meriweather was lost at tackle. He stays at guard. I think Rodriguez looked comfortable with Congdon next to him. Got to Hawks and Cantwell some snaps at right tackle.

Thorton was lost in space at safety. Has to play nickle and blitz. Safeties are Poyser, Fitz, and Dunnigan Fitz gets more time at nickle. Those 3 should rarely come off the field. Return of Lucas is huge.

Fully agree. I was sky-high on his role for us this year, and he looks like he is going thru the motions. So strange.

I get he’s obviously not a special teams player and shouldn’t have been out there regardless; however, he looks like a shell of himself out there. Can’t wait on him tho.

I really thought Pruitt would play more this season.

Blount played a lot more than I thought he did.

Still want to see more Jacobs snaps for more deep balls.

Ryan Mack really getting some chances.
I think he, and the other backup LBers will as the season goes on. CMU and Clemson were run heavy teams that we could get away with Toure/Smith in coverage. Like, PFF said Chase got targeted 5 times in coverage last night for 5 completions but they went for just 29 yards. FSU pretty run heavy too without a TE threat, but I hope we have Pruitt or Bonner on the field anytime Singleton/Wisner (edit: Singleton hurt dont know how bad) are on the field as they will torch Toure/Smith in coverage.

Poyser -
Fitz
Day
Dunnigan

Three of them should be on the field at all times when we’re healthy

Hate to pick on players but number 2 always seems to be a liability out there.
