This would be interesting too...I remember looking at gamecast late in the 3rd and we had outgained them like 360 to 180 and I just thought; geez it really should be 30-0 or worse, and the hardest thing to do in sports when games are close is to close. But penalties on O stalled drives and penalties on D kept theirs alive late.

I think the last line should read “Plenty for realists to complain about”. No one is a hater for being upset at yet another game with substantial yardage and not much on the scoreboard. It was the exception when it happened against USM. Now it has become the rule.

"Hater" has turned into "Someone not willing to sugarcoat every aspect of life" at this point.

This is so true. At the end of the day, what matters most is scoreboard. While we did win the. . . barely, it seems our O finds ways to self destruction. It felt for much of the game that we should win by 3-4 TDs, but we let them hang around by not producing points. It's gotta get better man

It’s a trend

Sure is.

And here's your reason why:

22 Redzone trips.

10 Redzone touchdowns.

Good for 45%, and 109th in the country. Only 7 P5 teams worse, and they're who you'd except.

Never going to put teams away if you can't score touchdowns. We did it again on Saturday. 4 trips down there. Only 2 TDs, and 2 FGs. And that performance actually improved the number for the season. Really good teams usually sit around 70% in this number. Guess what happens if we score a TD on 70% of our redzone drives against A&M and UNC? Both wins.

Felt like there was a substantial penalty of some type almost every time. We were able to overcome some, but a few were drive killers.

We don't get into the red zone enough, and then don't score enough when we do. We also don't score long FGs or long TDs.

found it. ****, have to do my own work. this is horrific against a horrific team with a division ZZ quarterback.

When you can’t score in the red zone and you can’t create explosive plays, this is what you get. We might be a top 40 total yards team and a bottom 40 PPG team. Has to be a rarity. We really look like some NFL teams that put up 450 yards of offense and score 21 per game

I’m not sure you can even take pride in the total yards number. It’s a defensive gameplan against this offense. Don’t let anyone get behind you and rely on a condensed redzone to help you out. Make Miami go 15 plays to score, and more often than not it’ll work out in your favor.
