Per the original post of Miami's record, points for, and points allowed someone brought up the point that this year is an outlier in that we had Florida and not a creampuff on the OOC schedule. For this look, I sought to remove the "cream puff" factor from the first eight games. So here, we take out the highest scoring game from each of the last 25 seasons, over the first eight games:

Doing this makes the numbers even worse. Miami's 2019 offense is the second worst in 25 years, exceeded only by the final Larry Coker squad that featured converted cornerbacks and punters at wide receiver in order for the Canes to avoid having to field a triple option offense.

1.6 FGs a game ties us with last years points total. Just think about how the kicking affects play calling and momentum. I honestly think kicking has been what doomed us.
In large part, you're absolutely right.

Except last year we had the same trash Kicker that cost us points

Huge. It certainly changes play calling inside the 30 and in...now on top of that factor in the oline

UNBELIEVABLY huge factor.

I think if you look back at the games situationally, just being able to come away with 3 points on each drive really would have put us up in a bunch of games. At least would have taken away two of our losses and thats VERY true.

FGs this year:

20-29 yds 3 of 7
30-39 yds 1 of 3
40-49 yds 1 of 2

Plus two missed PATs.

Those 2002-2002 numbers are staggering. Amazing that Golden had the best offensive season for Miami since 2002.

I'd love to see the fan base reaction to letting Patchan finish strong over Ross
Difference is, GR15 has been destroying everything in front of him since he arrived. I am not convinced there is a more talented kicker on the roster than Baxa. Kickers get in funks and need time to get out of it. Manny is making sure that can't happen.

If he’s have left Baxa in and he kept shanking every kick would you have said it’s ok Manny needs to let him work through it?
