Miami opens +7 to +8.5 on Saturday

Seems light, as I mentioned in the other thread. I expected it to be 9 or 10. There is roughly an 8 point gap in power ratings and seemingly Clemson should receive a half allotment for home field edge.

Besides, typically the line is shaded in favor of the most recent result because that's the way the public will view things. With Clemson winning big and Miami flopping you would typically lean to the higher number.

we may not like result of game. If Clemson scores early and score gets to 10-0 or 14-0 we are in big trouble. I fear the loss to Pitt took the wind out of our sails.

What people are going to find out is this game is meaningful to Miami not because it has playoff implications. Our players understand that we have never been to the ACC Championship and that in and of itself is important. And they want to win it.

Line is already at 9. I could see it being as high as 12.

MIami is going to win this game and you will be one of the first ones out there to great them at the airport when they get back. Mark this post.

First off I’ll be at the game. Secondly what does the Vegas line have to do with the Canes winning or not winning?

You are a good fan and I did not really mean that response to be directed at you. Sometimes I have to pick a thread that is close to the point I am making. A the spread does indicate how people are thinking and everytime Miami has had a big game nobody thinks they have a chance so I think they are wrong the spread is too high. Miami will win this game. Speed against speed.Lack of depth is the main difference but we have enough of course Herndon would be a big loss but there has been nothing I know that confirms it.

I never bet on my Canes. We have not played well the last 2 weeks and its hard to find a reason how we beat them. IMO we can't beat their A game and they may win 2 titles in a row. Doesn't mean we can't win next Saturday but a lot things have to go our way for that to happen starting with several of our key guys being healthy enough to play. Losing any one of 4,9, or 23 is a disaster.

I think the line goes to 13 but I don't care. Tee it up and lets go

Yes! It's going to take a post-modern century miracle for Miami to get their POSITIVE Karma back and all that. What's so puzzling is how Miami could play like an ACC bottom-feeder Friday past, when the ENTIRE team knew what was at stake and what not. Very strange indeed!

The bottom line: these are still young men, and I absolutely believe all the positive PRESS and South Florida LOVE got to their young ego's and all that. dUh.:sanford: And even though Richt and the team won't come out and admit it, they probably took lowly Pittsburgh for GRANTED and UNDERESTIMATED Pitt's resolve to upset Miami on their Senior Day.

I don't gamble, I don't give a fvck about the line. However, the more convincing a Canes victory is the better for us with the pollsters.
Leave all the analytical shiit for the office... My crystal ball says Canes win Saturday... line or no line.

I don't gamble either, but I am always very aware of the spread and the trend in which way it is moving. we opened as underdogs and moved to a favorite against VT, played the role of dogs once more against ND and both of those turned out pretty well for us. I think Clemson is significantly better than both of those teams and we don't have the luxury of playing them at HRS at night. It is going to take our best game to win. Whatever the result, it couldn't be worse than the last time we played...

See y'all in Charlotte. GO CANES!

What's so puzzling Miami played average before VT and ND. It's puzzling to me how many of you change on a dime. First were great then we are lousy. This team has played in cycles. I'm thinking we enter a new upcycle Saturday night.

Funny I go to a Clemson Board and they are not talking Miami but all the scenarios that have them in the playoffs. I REMEMBER the ND and VT boards giving us no chance. When will people learn. Miami partially back is still a pretty scary thought.
