Go ask a student athlete about how apparel and gear was in short supply with Nike. Malik Rosier, who was one of the few student athletes who was part of both eras has discussed this on multiple occasions.

Guys like Shane Larkin went and bought their own kicks at Sole Fly, because Nike wouldn’t give them extras, even when the program was rolling. Compare that to Adidas, who sends apparel out to where student athletes can give away the extras. Nike rarely if ever had player exclusive stuff for Miami, Adidas provides player exclusives regularly. One can even argue that Adidas puts out so much exclusive stuff, that they are costing themselves money by not making more of it available to the public.

We get it, in your myopic view, Miami should have let Nike F them over, just because but some of us are more concerned about the student athlete experience and financial considerations than a logo.
Geez Louise, how did I neglect to respond to this non sense.

How about this; how about I DO know several former student athletes, and u’re full of ****. Nike treated us bad, huh; yet, it was the former student athletes making a fuss over the switch to Adidas!! Lol

U continue to parrot the same **** & I guess u think if u continue saying the same **** eventually it will stick.

Do u know how contracts work? Let me explain, especially in the apparel sector since u’re completely clueless:

An apparel sponsorship is broken into two main components:

1. The upfront monetary commitment
2. The apparel commitment

Those two make the total compensation (plus there may be signing bonuses, other incentives, back end revenue).

Uniforms, gear, shoes, apparel, etc. despite u’re diluted idea is not cheap to make/provide which is y that’s apart of the total compensation. Nike has a specific clause that allows a school to forgo or convert apparel into cash, which means if a school decide to utilize that option, “extras of the aforementioned” will not be provided. The school will be responsible to use what they have in stock. Nike will only be responsible for replacing items that r defective from their end, only, not due to wear & tear.

Guess what happened during Shalala’s tenure, u know, ur favorite President? Lol Also, I love how u refuse to acknowledge the very publicized, & confirmed equipment room scandal, as articles were being stolen for side $$. Let me guess, that’s Nike’s fault, too, for not replacing the **** that was stolen, right? Lol

U, along w/ several others wanted Nike to match Adidas’ offer, which in essence u wanted Nike to reward Miami for being mediocre. U wanted Nike to value Miami over the likes of FSU, Bama, OSU all of whom won Nat’l titles or competed for Nat’l titles. U wanted Nike to pay us $7m+ AFTER the debacle of the 2013 off-season, and the retention of Golden after a 6-7 season, huh? Fck that Nike continue to outfit us in their latest tech, or constantly gave us new uniforms (designs be damned), u dolts continue to say Nike treated us bad, regardless if we were only 2nd to UO in terms of attention given. Lol.

The problem is u equate Adidas overspending to Nike treating us bad. Nike is a business, so let me ask u:

U have a business that u started with a friend. That friend started off strong, as u build ur business/brand together. However, down the line, this same business partner continues to fck up. No matter what u do, no matter what how often u show they matter & r important to u, they continue to fck up, hurting ur bottom line, and business model. After another good will gesture on ur end, this same business partner fcks up once again, but this time they feel they deserve more $$ for their fck ups. Are u paying? Loyalty be damned, r u paying?

So instead of blaming Nike, u need to start blaming the institution. U know why Adidas started cooling on us being their “flag ship program?” B/c we keep fcking up, so now Adidas is all in on UL & UDub. U wanna talk about player exclusives and **** like that; u do realize that became a thing like I dunno, 2016! However, let’s talk about what Adidas did for us last season for the b-ball program when we made OUR FIRST EVER FINAL 4…They gave us & FAU some generic all white sweat suit that said “Adidas Basketball.” Meanwhile, UCONN & SDSU received custom shoes and Nike’s new tech sweat suits w/ their insignias. Lol

Adidas paying more doesn’t mean they treated/ or are treating us better. It means we caught a company who was desperate to expand its Power 5 portfolio & we were the benefactors. Good on us for grabbing the bag, while hurting our brand. Only on Miami’s Adidas site can I can purchase Miami gear AND Texas A&M, Louisville, Miss St, and Washington Gear, too, when I click on the “other colors available” hyper link. Lol. Adidas has changed our colors from Orange and Green to Tangerine and Aqua, & now Neon. We’ve had uniforms made out of plastic trash from the ocean. Lol

U think I want us to be back w/ Nike due to my affinity for them & I’ll tell u, u don’t know ****. We’re not an underdog program, so y in the fck would I want to be associated w/ the #3 company in the world, especially when it’s affected our recruiting for certain players due to future NIL deals?

Btw, ur Shane Larkin story; well, apparently it wasn’t as bad as u’re trying to make urself believe.

And yeah, Shane still rocks the swoosh over seas. Lol
