The Hurricanes have landed a pair of kicker commitments in the portal, securing Jack Olsen and Jake Weinberg.
With current UM kicker Carter Davis out of eligibility for the upcoming season, Miami looked to secure their kicking room with multiple additions.
Olsen, a Northwestern transfer, has been successful on 40 of his 51 attempts going 19-21 on FG attempts last season. Although he didn’t attempt a FG over 50 yards, he was a perfect 14-14 from 30 to 49 yards.
As a rising sixth-year player, Olsen will bring experience to the room and likely slot in as the place kicker for the upcoming season.
Weinberg on the other hand will likely be the kickoff specialist for the upcoming season after he recorded a touchback on every non-onside kick attempt this past season.
A Florida native originally in the class of 2024, Weinberg also has three remaining years of eligibility as the ’Canes look to harness his leg power into consistency in the future.
