This past Friday, the No. 7 (1-0) Miami Hurricanes breezed past the (1-1) Stanford Cardinal with a final score of 45-6. The Hurricanes had a dominant performance, recording well over 500 yards of offense, mainly due to the Malachi Toney and Darian Mensah connection. As a result, the Hurricanes moved up in the FPI ranking system.

After defeating Stanford, the Hurricanes climbed to the No. 4 team in the polls, rising three spots from the preseason rankings with a rating of 25.4. The team is currently the highest-ranked ACC squad, with the Pittsburgh Panthers (No. 21) trailing behind Miami. The SMU Mustangs (No. 24) and the Virginia Cavaliers (No. 25) round out the conference inside the top-25.
Following the win, the system projects Miami to finish the season 11-1, with a 78.4 percent chance to make the playoffs and a 66.3 percent chance to win the conference.
