Dog its not nostalgia. Its when Ed reed walks up to DJ Jacobs and tells him he can be great here. Thats what sells him.
Every football player would love to meet ed reed, but that is not selling a high school edge recruit from georgia committed to osu to flip here, this is 2026. He knows who played here already

What sells him is what is happening now, the atmosphere that night would have helped way more…Which is why we should have honored the 2001 team vs fsu, big fumble

We have a lot to sell to DJ, and I couldn't care less what's used to get him or any other prospect the staff wants. If it's game day atmosphere, then get him here for the FSU game. If it's nostalgia, then get him here for the '01 celebration. If it's Cuban poontang, boats and hoes, whatever.

Wait, If meeting Ed Reed wouldn’t move the needle, why would a celebration for a 25 year old team?

I was with you until the last sentence. Out of state kids who weren’t born in 2001 aren’t going to be swayed by a halftime celebration that most of the crowd doesn’t even watch.

100%! I wish fans would get their minds out of the past and let it go. What Ed Reed did 25 years ago makes no difference to any recruit now. All that matters is what’s being put on the field right now and what the coaches are doing right now. People need to let this history stuff go already.

Im saying the atmosphere along with that could mean something more than it paired with a noon game

Let's stuff Buckeyes in a locker for Jacobs and Cypher, eh?
Has Gaby said who the surprise linebacker visit is yet? Cuz he denied it was Cypher a couple days ago right?

Ed might have more of an impression on the dad than his teenage son. Also, doesn’t need to hop on a plane to meet Ed. Kid lives in Atlanta area & at last check so does Ed. Thought he was helping coach a local HS team.

What he say about Lacey (the rb?)
This is a name I’ve brought up a few times regarding the running back board. With Ty Keys locked back in, I don’t expect Miami to go full steam on Lacey. There was a time there was genuine concern Keys could flip to Ole Miss, and Lacey was presented as a potential option. As of now, Miami doesn’t plan to go this route from what I have gathered. I will circle back in a couple of weeks and see if things change. https://247sports.com/player/brennen-lacey-46165500/

the day he decommitted from LSU

We don't need to impress the dad,he and mom were all in when the kid shocked them on live tv and committed to OSU and the parents expected miami to be the pick.
