Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes coaching staff are building something special with the 2027 recruiting class, already landing a total of five five-star prospects. The Hurricanes are looking to add a sixth to the mix as they turn up the heat for one of the best defensive players in the country.

According to the latest CanesInSight Daily Podcast, DMoney stated that the Hurricanes are turning up the heat for DJ Jacobs, noting that he feels confident about where the Hurricanes currently stand in his recruitment:

"Speaking to sources directly connected. Miami is not only budgeted for DJ Jacobs to be that six five star. They are in communication with DJ Jacobs and they are completely locked in on adding him as that that six five star and there is momentum there," he added. "Now, if anyone tells you they know what DJ Jacobs is going to do, they are lying to you because DJ Jacobs, is hard to read. Everybody thought he was going to Miami the first time, ended up going famously to Ohio State in a way that, again, shocked the whole industry. They didn't know until really right before the commitment. No one knows what DJ Jacobs is going to do. There was some buzz that he might be going to to Tennessee because Rodney Garner, the defensive line coach for Tennessee Volunteers, coached his dad. So, that was part of the the story there. But from what I understand, Miami is right in the mix like they've been since the beginning. Miami has confidence that they can get this thing done."

He has been committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes since December 2025. When you have a chance to be coached by NFL Hall of Famer Jason Taylor, it is hard to turn that down. The Hurricanes continue to make a strong push for him as he heads into his senior season at Blessed Trinity Catholic School in Roswell, Georgia. Last year, Jacobs was down to Coral Gables for a game-day visit to watch the game against Notre Dame and Florida. He was supposed to visit this summer, but he canceled at the last minute.

According to the 247Sports Composite Recruiting Rankings, he is currently viewed as a five-star prospect. He ranks as the nation's No. 3 overall player, No. 1 edge rusher, and No. 1 player out of the Peach State. This past season, the 6-foot-4, and 240-pound edge rusher led the Titans to an overall record of 7-5 and 2-2 in region play. He recorded a total of 102 tackles, 24.0 tackles for loss, and 16 sacks.

Do not count out Miami. Check out his Hudl film down below:

Not sure if you are joking, but this is synonymous with Danny being called Brad Tejada, not paying child support, getting eaten by a bear and dying of swine flu while being married to Heather Dynich.

Wait DBC gave Heather the Dynich and knocked her up???

If you’re talking about Brad Tejada don’t listen to anything he says he don’t know **** he’s just a cringe hyper fan.

Wasn’t he the one that was sucking off the Gators ( pause) a lot a couple years back?

Eric Bam Marrero but I believe there’s also a pic out there of Brad dripped head to toe in **** gear

Ty , **** I was hoping Jacobs

The Hayden Lowe situation may have freed up some more NIL money

Anything is possible. If Saban got Surtain who was an LSU lock and Mario is of that similar gene of non stop recruiting, it’s possible.

Everyone thought Surtain was LSU bound

Give him Lowe’s money

He was considered though an LSU lean everyone thought LSU till a few weeks from his announcement. I know I’m not crazy someone can tell me if I am wrong

I remember an LSU/Bama battle wth most people saying Bama.

I would love to add DJ, but I know Wiltfong just said, a day ago, Tennessee is the biggest threat to flip him right now. We just need to stay on Dawson and get them both to visit, again.

Yea maybe I am wrong here that was 100 years ago and my memory isn’t the best

Putting aside money, the opportunity for playing time is just if not more valuable as a pitch to make to DJ.

I don’t buy Tennessee despite the familial connection; they do however have freed up money just like us because that Penn State transfer DE basically quit football.

Give him Lowe’s money

Facts just relocate the funds

I understand y'all wanted DJ Jacobs to come to the FSU game.

But don't you think a weekend where the entire 2001 roster will be there recruiting him could mean more...

No. The recruits reactions to the atmosphere was great, that was the game to be at not a noon game. We’re not selling nostalgia anymore

Dog its not nostalgia. Its when Ed reed walks up to DJ Jacobs and tells him he can be great here. Thats what sells him.

Wasn't Ed Reed at the FSU game too?
