If the Miami Hurricanes football team were a car - which car would they be and why?

On an append - you are reading my 989 posts. Breaking 1000 in the next few weeks. I am sure Pete and D$ have some sort of celebration planned!

As currently constituted? Honda Civic. Dependable and sturdy car but it is not going to win you any car show prizes. Gets the job done though and is beloved by Hispanics/Latinos.
An LS swapped 2001 honda civic. Last year we also had a huge turbo with tons of boost. However, we still had the factory brakes and brake pads so everyone overtook us on the corners.

We also blew up the engine and turbo so we rebuilt it this year and put on a much smaller turbo. We’re trying new brakes this year

I was going to contest the dependable and sturdy remark, but actually thinking about it, you may be right. We get a lot of flack for "sucking" over the past 20 years, but we've pretty much been a 7-8 win team that goes to a bowl game. Meanwhile, FSU and UF have had four win, three win, two win seasons, so while they may have had higher highs, they have also had much lower lows. Although we have sucked by our standards, we haven't sucked by D1 standards. We've just been painfully mediocre.

And thusly, we arrive at the Honda Civic.

I put this into Grok and the results were pretty great. For Miami, I got a 2023 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. Key points - Power and performance, sleek and battle tested, occasional hiccups, potential for greatness

I then asked it to do FSU and got a 2005 Mustang. Key points - Fallen icon, underwhelming performance, loss of key parts, glimmer of nostalgia.

So which program would be the Pinto? SMU got the death penalty, but they've done a **** of a rebuild.
When you think about it, not really.

Their first season post-death penalty was 1989. They could have rebuilt much faster and stronger consider the vast resources they have.

This is pretty spot on.
