Miami extends offer out to 4-star 2028 RB Ian Thomas

Miami football and the Hurricanes coaching staff have extended an offer out to one of the best running backs in the 2028 recruiting class.



Four-star 6-foot, 185-pound running back Ian Thomas out of Tomball, Texas, announced yesterday afternoon that head coach Mario Cristobal has extended an offer out to him.

According to the 247Sports Recruiting Rankings, he currently is viewed as a four-star prospect. He is ranked as the nation’s best running back in the 2028 recruiting class, No. 39 overall player, and No. 5 player out of Texas.

This past season with Tomball High School, he recorded a total of 1,528 rushing yards on 203 attempts, while also punching in 20 touchdowns, and two receiving touchdowns.

Miami now joins a loaded 23 scholarship offer list: Arizona, Arkansas, Florida State, Florida, Georgia, among other schools.

He is now 6'/194 and has the frame to carry 20 lbs. more and no loss of speed.
