Miami quarterback commit CJ Cypher left the Under Armour Next S7VNS event with a championship trophy.
Leading Carrollton High School, Cypher helped his team knock off Wunna Warriors to cap off an impressive weekend against some of the best talent in the country. The future Hurricane looked comfortable throughout the tournament, making plays with both his arm and his decision-making while helping Carrollton stay in control when it mattered most, he was the best player out there for sure.
As if bringing home the championship wasn’t enough, Miami commit CJ Cypher was also named the Under Armour Next S7VNS MVP. The Carrollton quarterback consistently made plays throughout the weekend. The MVP honor is another milestone for Cypher, who continues to strengthen his case as one of the top quarterbacks in the 2029 class.
Cypher had no shortage of options before making his decision. Schools like Georgia, Ohio State, Florida, Auburn, Notre Dame, Florida State, and Tennessee all showed interest, but he felt Miami was the right fit. The Hurricanes made him a priority early, stayed consistent throughout his recruitment, and that paid off when he gave his commitment to Mario Cristobal and his staff.
