We know when Miami beats Clemson we will make the playoffs.

The media doesn’t think we do and most of the projections ive seen have a Miami-Alabama Orange Bowl if somehow we lose to Clemson.

How would you guys love to finally pay them cats back after all the BS and recruits they’ve stolen from us over the years?

Put a end to the Alabama saga and finish 11-2? Successful season or nah?

In the orange bowl with the type of environment we'd bring? Absolutely

That being said... We're playoff bound. Ain't got time to stoop to Bama's level on the outside looking in. They'll get theirs in a few years in Atlanta

11-2 with an OB berth and a win over Bama I would say is a success.
Much more than a success.

Let's aim for beating Clemson though.

How does it work with who our opponent is? Refresh my memory anybody who knows how it works.

I swear I'm not trying to be negative here but if we play Alabama we would get destroyed physically.

We would need to create at least three turnovers to keep the game close.

I'm not shocked you think that. Very common opinion among children.
I'd take us in a one game set, at home, vs roll tide. The only negative is how well those red yuppies travel, but it would be considered a down year for them by a significant degree, similar to when that Utah team rolled them up like Christmas lights. Hard Rock is our football coliseum now.

We could also lose by 40.

The Orange Bowl has to pick the 2nd highest ranked ACC team(basically the loser from the Clemson/Miami game) vs the highest ranked non-playoff team from the SEC, Big 10 or Notre Dame. Notre Dame is not gonna qualify and I don’t think the loser of the Wisconsin/Ohio State game is going to outrank Alabama or the loser from the Georgia/Auburn game.

So it’s most likely going to be Miami/Clemson vs the second rank SEC team that’s not in the CFP.

Bama would dominate us let's be honest. But I think it would be a good program measuring stick. Even if you lose to the best can make you better. Then one day you come back and take down the best.

Richt’s only win over Saban was St. Nick’s first season. Overtime with Stafford at QB. Almost upset Bama in the SECCG the year the Tide rolled over ND in the Orage Bowl. I think Richt might have ‘special feelings’ if he were to coach against Saban one more time.

Let’s not forget Georgia vs Clemson is a heated OOC rivalry. Clemson isn’t just another team to Richt. He’s beaten Dabo a number of times, with a loss or two.

Georgia could be the SEC pick, if somehow Alabama is picked for the CFP. Not likely, but not impossible.

Richt would love to face the Dawgs.

Good news is we’d have several weeks to heal We have been playing for what 10-11 weeks now? Team is beat up.

We heal up I think we can play with anyone at the ROCK.

All of you saying Bama would dominate is need to look at their bowl record during non championship seasons. The team collapses when they aren't playing for a National Title. Canes would crush them with the kind of noise heard during the Notre Dame game. We would be back in the eyes of the world.

If we were to lose and UGA were to lose, wouldnt the Orange Bowl committee rather have a Miami UGA matchup? Talk about a ratings bonanza. Don't know if the bowl committees HAVE to take a specific higher ranked team or can choose.

Sussessful but now it would be disappointing and THAT is a good thing. Us old guys have been there for all the good days as adults and it was glorious. That is sussess for us — NCs. But if we put to Bama it would ease some pain.

****...I would've loved to see UGA vs Miami in Playoffs and Clemson vs Auburn rematch in orange bowl. But Bama will likely be there

Bama struggles with offenses that have a legit passing game. They will be especially vulnerable with their inexperience at LB.

The question is....

Thank you.

You realize that the Home environment would not be the same as our regular season game. I truly believe we would get worked whenever we were on offense. Be careful what you wish for fam

I didn't say I think we'd get blown out. In fact, I think if we got every single break to go our way we might have a chance to win.

But Alabama's strength and conditioning is on another level. It would be very very ugly in the trenches.

I'm glad somebody else posted it because that has been my opinion about a meeting with Alabama, whether it's in the playoffs or Orange Bowl. Worst possible physical matchup for our program at this stage. They would be in the backfield wiping out the RPO exchange on one play after another. The pass defense is very, very good and Saban with time to prepare is not going to be friendly to an erratic quarterback. On offense they would methodically mirror what Pittsburgh did to us, but at a much higher level.

This was a scary Alabama team before the bunched injuries hit the defense.

I have no idea where this notion comes from that Alabama doesn't show up when the title is not on the line. The only example of that was the Oklahoma game in the Sugar Bowl a few years ago. That was the 2013 season, the only one in recent history that Alabama had a very supbar pass defense by their standards. The other qualifying game was the 2010 season in which Alabama was so furious after blowing the 24-0 lead to Cam Newton and Auburn that they took it out on Michigan State, 49-7.

Besides, Alabama is hardly out of the national championship hunt. I am among the many who are shopping for the best price on the Tide to win the national title. It has been a topic on betting forums the past two days. There are some juicy numbers out there. Some spots are not budging and leaving it in the 4/1 or 5/1 range but elsewhere it's been adjusted to 12/1 and I've seen 14/1. Certainly wouldn't be the worst investment I've ever made, even if Alabama gets shut out. Make it into the tournament and suddenly you are favored in any matchup. Unfortunately there aren't as many independent joints as the old days..pre mergers. This is the type of thing where some dunce mathematically clueless independent sportsbook manager would overreact and throw up 20/1.
