Through 3 games Miami’s offensive stats within the conference are standing out in a major way.
The only school in the ACC with 3 WR’s in the top 10 total receiving yards. The only school with 3 RB’s top 20 in total yards.
Tyler Van Dyke leads the conference in passer rating, Yards per attempt, completion percentage, and is second in passing TD’s.
Listen I’m not saying this is happening but in 2018 LSU’s offense with Joe Burrow was mediocre not nearly as bad as 2022 canes but mediocre nonetheless. They had the two best WR’s in the country in 2018 but it wasn’t until they hit lightning in a bottle with Joe Brady that they became a legendary offense.
This Canes offense doesn’t have Justin Jefferson or Jamar Chase but we may have hit our lightning with Shannon Dawson calling plays and Kevin Beard dragging the most out of our receivers.
Within this conference there is no ceiling for how good our offense can be. Restrepo can be the best slot receiver in this conference. Jacolby George is gaining confidence by the week. Colbie Young is a physical force that teams have to plan around. Think about this, coming into the year we thought Arroyo could be one the best receiving TE’s in the conference. He hasn’t played a down. Tyler Harrell has yet to make a vertical play but we know he is capable. Ray Ray Joseph is still trying to carve out his role. Breshard Smith is as fast and dynamic as anyone in the conference. Our running back is versatile and deep. Our 4th string back to this point, Chaney could be our best back. Tyler Van Dymes is slanging that THANG. Last but not least, our Oline gives us a chance to run or throw against anyone. This offensive line provides balance and attitude that we haven’t seen in decades.
We have to prove it every week but this group can be special. Now we need to go out and light the world on fire! WHY NOT US!?
