McConathy and Malik Bryant

They both already did.
You mean for this season? I think Bryant redshirts, but idk about mcconathy. Besides he’s played in 0 games so far, and Conference championships and Playoffs don’t count towards redshirt. We only have 7 remaining games. He can play in 4 of them still… Bryant can play in 2 of those 7

He should be a field DE but he's playing inside due to the weaker depth there.

He's technically only coming in during passing downs, with Moten, Blay and Scott acting as true DTs. But if one of those three goes down, my guess is he would need to step in. They're not moving Bain or Mesi back inside, and Simpson and Jones aren't ready.

NGL, I was expecting more out of both Scott and Jones by this time. With smaller OL in ACC play, I really hope they start flashing.

It’s not that they aren’t developed. It’s just similar to the situation with RayRay. We’re at a stage right now where elite players have to play. That’s just the reality. They’re really good backups, and that’s an important role too. That’s what we need and that’s what we want. So I’d just say don’t get your hopes up too much.
Facts!!!!

According to PFF he's played seven snaps outside. He's mostly been a DT this year. At least according to their charting, it's not like I chart it myself.

I didn't count his DE snaps when I checked, but PFF is off on this one. He's played more than 7 snaps at DE this year. Since the ND game when the game has been in doubt, am pretty sure he's the only DE we've had on the field outside of Bain and Mesidor on early downs.

Your point stands though, stay healthy Bain and Mesidor.

uh 17 over tackle and 31 outside tackle snaps for Blount this year, and he missed a game... vs 5 A gap and 47 B gap.
So 48 EDGE vs 52 DT

Jones was like Sampson coming in, was always going to take a few years, think year 3, he starts coming into his own, solid year 4 and 5, nice we are almost there, where we can let guys develop

Have y'all seen our DL? When are they going to play?

Malik Bryant was an absolute problem for me in CFB26 as an RRE, but this ain't video games. These guys are just snap eaters at this point and you hope you get some nice plays in minimal opportunities, but it seems that is not the case right now. So, just depth guys. Lightfoot is the first guy off the bench.

Hopefully ACC plays sees a little more time for the reserves...Bain and Mesi can't play this percentage of snaps all year for a deep playoff run. You're going to burn'em out.

That's my concern across the line and at LB, as well. We need more rotation ASAP. Not just to get the other guys more reps, but even more importantly to avoid wearing down our starters.

  • Bain- 258
  • Mesidor- 256
  • Lightfoot- 83
  • Bryant- 25
  • Scroggins- 23
  • Pickett- 16
Snap counts for edge players. Stay healthy Bain/Mesidor.

even another reason why the two byes are welcome at this point. Even if you adjust Bain/Mesidor's snaps downwards b/c of defending FSU, the snaps skew a bit on the high side.

Ideally, those 2 can average 45-50 snaps per game, which, btw, is generally the average for a good, starting DE in a major P4 conference.

Interested to see how/if he plays, not exactly a highly rated recruit but good measurables and played last year too.

Need a 4th DE outside of Lightfoot to really make an impact. (I don’t consider Blount to be a DE or DT just a DL lmao, he’s versatile for us.)
