With the 2026 High School Football season less than 20 days away, the MaxPreps sports website has been releasing the top-10 players at each position heading into the new season. Yesterday afternoon, MaxPreps released the top running backs as the outlet named Miami Hurricanes 2027 running back commit Ty Keys.



Tennessee commit David Gabriel Georges headlines the group, being named the No. 1 running back heading into the new season. Keys was named as the No. 9 running back and the No. 1 player at his position out of the state of Mississippi. He has been committed since May 1st, and he recently shut down his recruitment and to lock in on Miami.

Representing Poplarville High School, he led the Hornets this past season to an overall record of 8-5 and 2-2 in district play. Having played over 32 high school football games, he has been the starting running back since his freshman season. During his junior season, he rushed for 3,285 yards on 301 carries.

According to the 247Sports Composite Recruiting Rankings, he is currently viewed as a top-200 prospect, and is a high blue-chip product. He ranks as the No. 185 overall player, No. 13 running back, and No. 6 player out of Mississippi. Standing at 6-foot-1, and 190-pounds, he has the ability to make defenders miss with his quick cuts and his acceleration to get away from defenders.

IMO of you recruit top 10 players at every position, you should win and win big.
There is ZERO guarantee that number 1 or number 3 is better than number 10. Injuries, depth chart, work ethic, coaching and so much more play into the ultimate success. But top 10 means there is a lot of physical talent
