Matthew Able

Not gonna lie - he's never played a minute of college ball. You'll live.

The arrogance continues. Sure, we don't need any high school recruits. 15 portal players is all we need.

You spend your entire day responding to my posts and making it personal. You're literally calling the kettle black. This is a basketball message board - I promise it isn't nearly as serious as you're trying to make it.

Not only are you a person who thinks it's OK to call other posters pedophiles, you are being dishnonest too.

This is your problem, you are such a thin-skinned whiner that you break into tears whenever somone critiques one of your posts or disagrees with your viewpoint. Even though nothing is personal.

Remember that time a couple of years ago when you whined to me after I responded to one of your posts, when you were blubbering about how you thought that you and I were "cool" on things? And I had to tell you that none of this is personal, and that I'd fight with my own brother if I disagreed with him?

You are just inventing nonsense about anyone "spending the entire day responding to your posts and making it personal". That simply isn't true. Nobody targets you and makes things personal. For some reason only known to God and yourself, you have chosen to white-knight for Jai Lucas and (presumably) Dan Radakovich over and over and over again. You can't seem to fathom what an ill-based and unpopular position you've taken, generally, and so your narcissism takes over as you assume IT'S ABOUT YOU. It's not.

You compound the issue by personally insulting everyone who disagrees with you, sneering about how those people "don't follow the game" or "don't make contributions to the Athletic Department".

So, yeah, when nearly every UM alum and/or booster that I know has serious questions about Dan Radakovich's hiring, our lack of a quality search process that does NOT focus on only one candidate from the outset, and the role of "if you hire the guy I want, I'll contribute to NIL" boosters, then that is the viewpoint we will express.

And if you want to be dismissive over the valid concerns of hiring a coach with no prior head-coaching experience, you don't have to resort to insulting individual posters who feel that way, particularly when we represent the majority opinion in the UM alum/booster/fan community.

You can't rely on, or get away with, the "pot calling the kettle black" defense. It is a lie that you tell yourself to disguise your narcisssism. If you made better arguments, if you didn't take everything personally, if you didn't issue personal insults to people who disagree with you, then maybe people wouldn't be bothered by your Jai Lucas white-knighting.

Everything wrong with you is represented by your final sentence. After whining about people getting "personal" with you, you then try to turn it around on us by lecturing us on how this isn't serious. If you really believed that, you wouldn't take things so personally, and spout narcissistic nonsense about how people are responding to all your posts. I've got 50,000 posts, you've got 7.000. That's not a brag, just a mathematical proof that I do a lot more on this board than responding to your porsts.

I’m not getting in the middle of this war of words, but honestly if we had a full roster in the next month, I think that would be amazing.

I can see trying to fill a 13 person roster dragging out for a few months

It's not a war of words when one is a reasonable poster, such as yourself.

Yes, I agree. It would EITHER be great to get a full roster immediately, or else over the next month. That is not what I am critiquing.

What has become bothersome on the part of the Jai White Knights is the manipulation of reality to convince us that we are making some sort of progress that is not really happening. As if we should be ELATED that we got "3 recruits in one week", as if that kind of pace will remain consistent, as if that is some sort of huge one-week accomplishment when we need to flip all but ONE guy on the roster.

I've tried to have factual and logical discussions of the problems we face, only to be shouted down by a handful of pro-Jai-Lucas posters. It's just weird.

I'm tired of the "promises" of the UM administrators, boosters, and (sadly) CIS posters who have tried to convince us that prior-head-coaching experience doesn't matter, and that "tripling our NIL" will fix all sorts of our problems.

The reality is that we waited until the House Settlement was nearly complete to raise our compensation level, and now we have massive competition (and not all from P4 "football" schools) that matches our new "enhanced" NIL offers.

And the reality of hiring a never-before-head-coach, who is known primarily for being a super-recruiter at blueblood schools, is that if he DOES NOT immediately land blue-chip talent, then we are in for a long and uncertain road back to relevance. Hopefully our fans will come back in a couple of years when the basketball and baseball teams make their comebacks.

That's all truth.
