He reminds me of how Roy Williams got close but couldnt get over the NC Title hump at Kansas then returned to UNC and won a few.
I think Richt will be able to do that here because his AD wont handicap him and his recruiting base is best in the country.

Also, both have an R in their first name, and an I in their last names.

He reminds me of Red Auerbach losing to George Mikan with the Washington Capitols, then going to the Celtics and then winning 9 championships

And they both were at their previous employer for 15 seasons, too. Oh, and they both were Assistants for Legendary Coaches for 10 seasons before they got their first gigs.

I don't want to jump the gun, but I think we gone be real good. Chips starting to look at us hard. we win, the savages will be here. cheers

Good point. I'm on tobacco road so I have some expertise here. RW puts in all of his scholarship guys during the year, even when they ***** up. But, by the end of the year they are all head and shoulders above the competition.

It's fate. I'm still wishing Butch would have left a little earlier so we nab Richt from FSU before Georgia. Imagine had we gotten him after the 2000 season... Oh my....

You have to forgive him for that loss because basketball players don't skate very well.

It was definitely the Washington Capitols. I like the Roy Williams comparison, couldn't win the championship until he finally came home.

If you think about the athletes his teams at UM will have relative to his competition in the ACC, it will likely be a much wider margin than he had in the SEC. Over the course of a season, that will result in a much fresher teams down the stretch of a season.

Miami needs better football players, not athletes.
