Mark Richt on UM Fans, Banners

Video: Mark Richt talks to Miami Hurricanes beat writers | Miami Herald

Reporter: "The fans in south Florida nowadays are tough, they can be kind of mean-spirited, they flew banners saying fire this guy, fire that guy."

Richt: "That's part of the business. I can't wait to embrace them and thank them (meaning UM fans) for being passionate about this school."

May all of the "above the fray" dopes who whined about the banners and claimed they'd hurt UM in its coaching search please come forward for a hearty serving of crow.

I'm glad our new head coach is tougher than all of you who complained about them and that he embraces those who are truly passionate about Hurricane football.

One thing I take from the video is that he was asked if he was overwhelmed.
He immediately disputed that and said he felt comfortable and at home.

Just gives me goosebumps.
 
The whole country can agree we have sucked. No coach comes in thinking they are going to do what the last coach did. Therefore, with that mindset, coaches will think that will never happen to them.

He also said sometimes voicing the negativity does not help the team.
If it becomes overwhelming a lot of good will that has been built up in recruiting of a kid (could make him be like "man" in a negative voice)
 
The folks who were so quick to decry the banner had a lot on their minds, guys. Namely, managing their prolapse.
 
I wanted Butch but I gotta say Richt has been on point. Go CANES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
