Lotta guys in here pretending Sonny Long doesn't think pig ***** is pork... there were probably 10 threads from him alone against Richt.


Folks were ****ed that Butch got passed over. Most have moved on tho.

Banners calling for Fraulden's firing, and replacement by Butch, put a gun to the BOT's head. They did fire the fraudster, and had to replace him with someone comparable to Butch, if not Butch. However, Butch himself might have been doomed by the banners. The BOT might not have wanted to be perceived as being too influenced by the rabble.

At the very minimum, Butch served as the talent barometer for a head coach. The search committee might have been charged with finding someone comparable to Butch. Then Richt fell into their lap.

In the end, the banners, and Butch, were instrumental in getting us a new competent coach.

These guys are hilarious. This guy says they've moved on from Butch but keep bringing him up. That the banners were instrumental in firing Al. The reality is most members of the media called them morons. The banners allowed us to vent our frustration and let everyone one know we were unhappy but what got Al fired was more and more empty seats at the games An increasingly angry fan base blowing up the business phones of BOT's such as Stewart Miller and Paul DiMare. Then after Al's signature 58-0 loss the pitchfork mob that was preparing to march out in front of the Hecht Center and former players who had organized and were planning on walking into the Hecht Center and demand he be fired were all factors in Al getting fired.

As to the inane Butch comment, it's ironic that the Butch haters do not hesitate in besmirching his good name at any opportunity. Then they bytch.

Obviously, too many POTATOES here have yet to realize that Richt is the new HC. STFU already, and get behind him.

You want to call someone a potato with your reading comprehension skills? No one was bashing Butch there, they were questioning your mental gymnastics to some how bring him into the conversation. For someone who says he's moved on, you sure bring him up a lot and defend him when there is no need to. If you would actually take the time to read before opening up that pie hole you would have seen in previous threads I was ok with Butch if he was the best available guy. Like anyone they have their faults. I'm a fan of the school first not a particular person.

Apparently you've already forgotten how many times you guys said the banner boys we doing the "Lord's work" and were "heroes" in spite of all the criticism. You might want to take some memory enhancers for that.
 
Just do not understand ANYONE being negative over this hire. Would these people rather have Schiano? Butch was never happening because of the problems at UNC while he was there. (He may have been targeted unfairly, but it's likely he's never going to be a Div. 1 coach again , especially at his age.) We were very lucky to get Richt, or Monkey Boy would have been prowling the sidelines next fall and we would have another mediocre Jersey Boy stuck at .500 seasons for another 4-5 years.
 
The only 'negativity' going on right now is dragging the former SS porsters out of hiding to stand trial since their Heir Golden got canned.

There is no debating this season has been disappointing beyond what anyone would have imagined after hiring Richt.
7-5...I would have bet the house and lost if you told me Miami would only win 7 regular season games with our schedule.

Let's see what happens next year. This team is very close to being a 10 win team --not so close to being a playoff team.

Very prolific offense, which always lost to us unless we were on probation. I don't know how long you've been a Hurricane fan but in my crew we use to have non-stop jokes about richtirement when he was a criminole.
Dudes not a U guy until Flake through money at him. Guy didn't become some big Cane alumn until the sorry AD came calling.
 
We all know the deal we blew the season but it's time to root for them to close well in recruiting and in the bowl game. There are a few threads dedicated for the negative feelings towards Richt and the staff. We can let our frustrations out in those threads and try to come together in other threads to support this team. Just my opinion. I won't be surprised if I draw a negative reaction.
