Soooo, with Drones and the USC QB supposedly re-signing with their teams, same as the Iowa State dude Becht we just lost to, is this our last remaining relatively decent quality option?

He's got a legit NFL ARM but I would still take Beck any day of the week. It just sucks that Beck cannot go through spring. Hopefully it won't matter much since he's a senior and has played in more complex offenses at Georgia.

Gronowski won't be able to participate until summer either since he's elected for surgery. Not sure how the coaches graded them but I assume like most, they heavily preferred beck

Sounds like the staff was initially interested but less confident in the medicals than they were with Beck.

Probably but even if it wasn’t apples to apples, Beck is still significantly better so don’t think that would have been deciding factor

There really weren't many good options in the portal. It was Beck v Mateer, then ............................................................................ Mendoza.


So thankful we landed Nickel and won't need to hit the portal again for at least 3 years, hopefully more if Coleman develops.

Mark Gronowski is a draftable quarterback right now. Probably more of a Day 3 guy right now, but would go into next year as a projected Day 2 pick.

He can play. Not Cam Ward though. But he can play at this level. Dawson's offense would be good with him. More willing runner. If you liked Mendoza or the concept of Mendoza...this guy is the best at the FCS level.

Former Walter Payton FCS award winners include NFL Draft Picks and Rostered QBs like Jimmy G, Trey Lance, Delvin Hodges, Heinike, Tony Romo.

Numbers dipped this year, but lack of surrounding cast, especially early. Lots...

He’s not very good and surely is not getting good coaching.
