Mario on JOe Rose Show this morning

in response to the Kam's scolding, he said that he understands, "we [Mario's UM teams] were complete animals", but Kam knows the rules.
We also had a winning history and could get away with without looking like clowns. Not that what he did was that bad but spiking or slamming the ball is a penalty and then the showtime on the sideline when all you did was make a nice catch vs a cupcake team was too much.

The key here if you get the penalty against BC will you get that penalty against A&M? One you can away and one you cant. We would go crazy if that cost a game against another team. Its a rule and you have to play within the rules. Corch em up.

Key smith just said gattis didn’t want to open up the playbook against BCU for all you who really think we aren’t going to throw the ball deep.
I was at the game and we put up 580 yards with a basic vanilla scheme. It was like working on fundamentals. I think the offense is further along than I felt after the camp reports. The blocking especially. I'm so mad I don't get to see Citizen anytime soon.

That night against Jaworski that was brought up at the end of the show at the famed WEST END was truly truly astonishing. If you weren’t there no words accept astonishing can really explain it.👍🙌

Defense needs to clean up big time, would have been exposed if they played like that against good competition. Not enough sacks, contain, or good coverage. Given all the camp reports it was a surprise to see the O playing better than them. Hopefully the first two games will shake out the jitters, some essential adjustments are made etc

I distinctly remember these claims with Richt. Saving the playback for the big opponents lol
Richt never used more than his "basic six plays" except for ND and his reasoning was "well they work if they're executed properly ... we need to work on execution". And he actually wanted to make his son the OC ... so HE could call the same 6 plays. The man did so much good for the program ... pushed the IPF, brought some credibility to the program when he was hired, but man he was lazy as far as game planning.

Jaws biggest puss ever, couldn't believe fans cant cheer and be loud, thats what home field advantage is all about

Not that I don't believe him, but I feel like we hear this every year lol
I definitely hear you, but this one felt a little different. Our OL was just pushing them around, and we know Mario likes being physical and establishing the run, so it made sense to just keep pushing them around with just enough passes to keep them honest. It also seemed to be more of a variety of running plays than a dive like we've dealt with the last few years.

I would think we'll see a little more passing next game to get us into more of a rhythm before playing 8&4.

CMR also let Miami off the hook from that new contract by retiring. People don’t understand how much deep **** we would have been if it wasn’t for that man caring about the program and not taking that money. For that, I’ll always be thankful.

Then we hired Diaz ….smh.

Was just gonna say the same thing, I rarely, if ever, see something that (relatively) trivial called in a "big" game between evenly-matched opponents. But against Bethune, you're likely to see the refs sympathize with B-CC and make that call to teach UM a mild lesson.

Yeah - I am thankful he did that and we were not in a situation like Iowa where their longtime respected HC has insisted on his son being the OC to absolutely terrible results. They played South Dakota State this weekend and only put up 7 pts... 4 of which were from 2 safeties. It has to be so incredibly frustrating as an Iowa fan to see a consistently great defense saddled with such a terrible offense.

He also, in hindsight, was suffering from the beginning of Parkinson's, so I think calling him lazy isn't entirely fair. We all thought something was just a little off with him his last year, and it turns out we were right. I have nothing but gratitude for what Richt accomplished here, especially the buzz of the 2017 season.

the man laid a blueprint to build a real program, he gave us our best year in a long time. he was clearly sick his last year. I would tell people he didn't look right. im not going to bash this man. I pray for him
