get the sense this is Mario's year to put up or shut up. A lot riding on how this Miami team that most are projecting to be in the ACC championship/or playoff hunt will perform. That's a lot of pressure and I welcome it.

"The new defensive coordinator brings aggressiveness and balance to the defense, which has the potential to be a top unit."

Who is this? Nicholson maybe? Unless I missed it, I didn't hear anything about a coordinator at the 16:50 timestamp.

Ai has its pluses and minuses. We obviously don’t have a new dc in terms of this year, think it’s misinterpreted

He pushed his chips all in. If we can’t make it work and look like it’s supposed to with Cam ward it may be the final nail in the coffin.

Everytime Greg runs out of generic stuff to say (since he doesn't bother to learn about non-sec teams) he just ends a sentence with "but we won't go into that" or something similar. You can see how Mario plays to his very fragile ego and he becomes putty. We'll definitely get good press which is nice.

My favorite Greg moment was in the UNC game where he made a comment about the ACC and the other announcer just shut him down.

You can't win big without elite talent.

This staff is demonstrating upper tier-level talent acquisition. But it won't be enough.

Game day execution and X/O scheme development is still questionable, and a lot of that should fall on coordinators, and I'm looking forward hopefully to improvement on that front this season. (yes, renewed my season tix, thx for the input).

Having said that, and I know "culture" is a term some hold in derision, but this is a new day in CFB. A major aspect of coaching to championship levels is going to be the ability to deal with the transient nature of talent. How well do you take elite talent pieces and mold them into a team. Creating unity and cohesion in the NIL era.

This is no longer the "You're stuck here, so suck it up" days of arcane CFB. Coaches will have to transition to a more NFL caliber mindset of dealing with professional athletes; that is one of the most important aspects of "culture" in this new world. Those who get there first will have the edge.

We are stuck with Mario for better or worse. Zero chance they’d make a move for another 2+ years.

Let’s hope he gravitates more towards CEO.
