Mario cost us this game

As usual terrible clock/ game management, he has to be the worst in CFB
2 critical mistakes in last 2 minutes:
1.SMU had 4 th and 9 with around 1 minute to go or less, clock was moving they had to call play on the fly to convert and Mario takes TO which led to the penalty and 1 st down.
No TO no penalty
2.25 seconds to go with 1 TO and he takes a knee.Should have a shot or 2 downfield and win the game in regulation.Played to avoid losing and most of the time you end up losing

He has cost us 1-2 games a year with mistakes like above.
His use of time outs befuddles the mind.

In the history of football that includes pros, college, HS, and pee wee.
 
Also the stubborn meathead philosophy of “we are going to play smash mouth football and run it right at you”… if your offensive line cannot support that approach, stop forcing the issue.

And there needs to be a conversation as to why/how Mario’s personal pet project… the offensive line… cannot impose its will against the likes of Louisville and SMU, despite four years worth of his recruits/coaching.

agree but I think #2 says more about their trust in Beck. An INT in our own territory giving them a chance at a last second FG before the end of regulation would have been second guessed as well. They let him throw at the end of the Louisville game to go for the win in FG range and we all know how that ended.
 
I knew the game was over on that penalty on Blount, once they said Caveman called a timeout I couldn’t believe it. Game Over.
 
This is the quintessential Mario loss. I couldn't believe he took the knee with 25 seconds and a TO at the 25 yd line. This after costing us a first down with a terrible late time out call. Not to mention the team just looking generally lost and unfocused, like they're being coached by a HC & staff that were deeply shaken by last week's loss. Again, this was like a different team than what we saw the first few weeks...just like last year. Same story. Mario might be hopeless.

The sad part is that we all knew this was going to happen to finish the year. This team will drop 1-2 more to finish out and then play in a lackluster bowl game where half the team will sit out and we’ll lose another bowl game

Beck was terrible pretty much the whole Louisville game. That was not the case today. He was good this game. Different days, different defenses, different games. As a coach you have to have a feel for the game and your players.
