Manny defense in one play

Hated that he only rushed three there. Not surprised that rag arm kid beat us, given a clean pocket and time to eat a meal. Whatever. Manny’s D gave up a game winning TD, then on top of it, he totally screws up the time management at the end of the game. Just bad.
 
Are the guys taught to just drop to a certain zone? They don’t even flow with the receivers or pass them off. Everything about them seems robotic. No wonder receivers are always running free and how even below average qbs have career days against this defense. 8, 23, 24 dropping towards the hash all three receivers run their routes inside the hash. Neither one goes with them even though there no longer any threats in their zones.

manny has given up that play since he been here. has nothing to with TROB.

EVERY OC KNOWS ON 3RD OR 4TH AND LONG THEY ARE GONNA GO SOFT ZONE.

look at the **** play the two wr's ran clear routes to free up Parchment...that play was 100 percent going to him....BECAUSE THEY KNEW WHAT COVG THEY HAD....

MIDDLE OF THE FIELD FOREVER OPEN.

Been seeing it for years. It sucks. It never stops and its why so many QB's have a field day with us.

Another bad coverage we have is as follows.

When FSU would line up three on a side, the coverage call was atrocious as well. Outside receiver had a man 5 yards down the field. Guy in the middle, coverage 8 to 10 yards off. Slot, 10 to 12 yards off. They're staggered like that to help not getting tangled up in crossing routes, but the slot is so far gapped that he just has to cut inside and wide open. Teams been shredding us all yest that way.

@SayWhat if you watch it again as well if Travis hits the inside slot its a first as well....Look where Stevenson is when he picks him up...lIke u said he is at 10 yds already.

Its just a bad covg call and they call it REPEATEDLY TO NO AVAIL. BUT THEY ALSO HAVE BEEN CALLING A DELAYED BLITZ FOR 4+ YEARS THAT MAYBE HAVE GOTTEN THERE 3 TIMES IN THE AMOUNT OF TIMES. I WAS ACTUALLY EXPECTING IT THERE...BUT THEY WENT EVEN SOFTER.

IF YOU GONNA RUSH 3...GO AMOEBA TO THROW OFF THE LINE PROTECTION OR SOMETHING...I MEAN JUST LOOK AT THAT RUSH..SH*T IS PITIFUL...AND IN A KEY 4TH DOWN...THATS THE BEST HE COULD PUT ON THE FIELD TO GET TO THE QB?.
 
Just asking to beat on that play. Even if Travis takes off and ties to go for the end zone, you have 6 or 7 guys at the goal line in zone with their eyes on the QB waiting. No reason to have a spy on him at this down and distance.

Oh and f lashlee too. If they would have scored on their first one or two drives and made fsu play from behind, it’s a wrap.

I was talking about some other plays Go.

If there's ever a time to play press with two high, that near to last play was it though.

I'm not really trying to defend Lashlee here, but he was trying to score the first few drives, but when we turn the ball over like we did in the first, what can you do?

One thing I'll credit FSU for tonight was their corners played better than they had all season. They did have some breakdowns and get beat, but by and large they were on our guys like glue.
 
Imagine dropping 8 to cover receivers instead of rushing the passer on 4th and long and then really only using 2-3 guys to cover anyway because the rest just stand there.

In other words, on the game-clinching play let’s play 6 on 11.
