Malik stunk up the joint yesterday and was a key player as why we lost, but he isn't the 1st QB to have a bad game.

In 2001 Dorsey stunk up the joint vs a **** BC team and almost lost the game. The difference is Dorsey had a real OL which could run and pass block. He had a real defense that didn't just cause turnovers but shut teams down. We won because others picked up the slack.

Dorsey.webp

A group that help carry the slack was the OL and Portis.

Portis.webp

Plus a defense that despite having an offense that turned the ball over 5 times. Kept going out and forcing 3 TO themselves and scoring a TD. All the while only giving up 7 points to BC.

Our only offensive points were from Todd Sievers FG.

Malik is not good enough too carry this team alone. It is shocking that we have 10 wins.

Everyone wants to blame him alone, but where is the outcry for a OL that can't open holes? Oh i forgot, reading this board Malik needs to complete those passes so we can run.

A defense that shuts down ND, but needs 25 from the offense to beat a 4-6 Pitt team.

This offense needs chunk plays in both the pass and run to function. Richt offense is offensive to anyone that calls themselves an OC.

Yep - I thought about this during the game. The team has no real run game to fall back on.

With Malik being an average QB, it really is fvckin amazing that we're 10-1.

Incredible year - it'll pay off in recruiting.

look at the games leading up to that game. Dorsey was consistently accurate and didn’t get off to slow starts. We were blowing teams out in the first quarter. Two totally different situations.

Dorsey will be mentioned with Toretta, Kelly, Kosar in terms of talent. Malik more so along the Jacory and Morris

I personally think it was on him yesterday, but he is still our qb and we know he can bounce back. Nothing the young man didn't say himself yesterday in the postgame interview.

now to address some of your issues, yes it's a team sport. However, Malik's inability to throw yesterday started the domino effect. It's okay he will bounce back.

Our OL has been below average all year, especially in short yardage and redzone. If they don't get it fixed next year it's on Searles

Which is on Richt, plain and simple.

It's HIS offense with HIS hand selected O-line coach in HIS second year.

Might be different but illustrates that this TEAM has issues that extend beyond Malik Rosier. This was NOT the defense that played VT and the team after. This was the same defense that played UVA and UNC. Great, but huge questions.

Rosier at his worst is WAY worse than Dorsey at his worst

Based on what?

Dorsey threw 4 fvckin INTs, can't run the ball, and had a 75 QBR

Malik threw 0 INTs, 2 TDs, ran for 40 yards, and had a 109 QBR

He was awful yesterday, but how is that worse than Dorsey at his worse? Dorsey also had elite NFL pro bowlers around him, and a better run game, defense, special teams, etc.

Dorsey didn't have as many bad outings - that's the difference. Been if you are comparing someone at their worst - I don't know how 4 INTs and 0 TDs doesn't take the cake. Maybe Vinny in Fiesta Bowl vs Penn St?

Dorsey will be mentioned with those names because of winning, but in terms of talent, no. Dorsey was a mid 50% passer during his time here, playing with a loaded unit that opposed it's will on defenses.

That BC team was way better than Pitt. Teams haven’t been respecting our pass game the whole year due to Rosier’s inconsistency. Teams dial in to stop our run game cause they don’t fear the pass and they dare Rosier to beat them passing. Once rosier starts hitting some passes the defense softens up and we run well.

I don't think anyone has ever talked about Rosier's talent behind anywhere near great. I remember when the Miami Herald ran an article a few weeks back that NFL teams were taking notice of Rosier and all I could do was shake my head at how little people who don't follow a program closely know about the players.

The issue, the point, and the takeaway from what we saw yesterday is that Richt panicked in a crucial moment. I've watched more football over the last 35 years than I care to admit and I can't tell you how many times, with teams all over the country and at all levels, where "Team A" struggles on offense with **** poor QB play for 3 quarters but manages to stay in a close game and then puts together just one or two good drives late in the 4th and wins. It happens all the ******* time....for the love of God it's happened to us on more than one occasion this season.

So there's the rub. Richt neutered any chance for that "one drive" to happen on one of the MOST CRUCIAL DRIVES in the 4th quarter. We had the ball in great field position, down by only 10, with more than 11 minutes on the clock. Richt just ****ed away a drive to someone try to prove some asinine point? With no capable back up QB to execute during Rosier's absence?

It's one of the dumbest things I've ever seen a head coach do at ANY level. Period.

The defense was on the field for too **** long yesterday. Malik not making throws and keeping drives alive finally broke our defense’s back. They gave Rosier 2 turnovers with excellent field position and Malik just f@cked them. You’re an ungrateful ******* for calling out the defense that with all their struggles yesterday, they kept us in the game. Malik is still our horse cause we have none better but this lose was on him. Like he said himself he was complacent, just out there to be out there and not dialed in.

It may have been the wrong move, but it wasn't "to prove a point" it was meant to be motivational. The game was slipping away and it didn't look like Rosier was getting his sht together so Richt sat him for a series hoping that would provide a spark. Personally, I think it was the right move but he should have done it sooner. It was too late, but Rosier came out and threw a TD so you could argue that it worked. You could also argue that the D had been doing a decent job so there was reason to expect the ball back 2-3 more times, but it didn't work out that way.

Either you are joking or you are drunk already to say Rosier is with Morris and Jacory. Those two left zero legacy behind. Rosier at worst will be with Brock Berlin. And if he beats Clemson he’s in a class by himself a notch below the legends and above Brock.

Exactly!!! The defense was out there for too **** long since Malik couldn’t keep drives alive. And he missed Berrios on that bubble screen and he had no pressure on him he was just like he said it himself complacent and not dialed in.

I only threw the "prove a point" thing in there because it's become a narrative with the retards on this board now in several of the other threads discussing the topic. The types on this board that blindly defend the coaching staff come up with garbage like this to attempt to justify something that isn't justifiable.

There is no universe where that was a good decision. This isn't a hindsight thing playing the result either. I lost my god**** mind the second the announcer cut in and revealed what the ghost of Randy Shannon had just done.
