Norvell copying Mario
Mario hides depth chart so teams don't know which beast they'll see the most.
Norvell hides his so people don't laugh to death

Definitely agree if you think there's not much to take from that 1 play.I'm trying my best to sit this one out, but we are about 11-12 days out from the season and I need a couple minute break from work. I'm not picking sides with this Lyle stuff because the sample size that I've been presented with - as a fan - is relatively small and involves a nagging season-long injury last year. I'm not knocking anyone for thinking one way or the other regarding Mario Andretti, er Jordan Lyle. I felt compelled to reply to this comment and 8 second snippet for reasons I alluded to in my second sentence. How can anyone draw any conclusion of anything meaningful based on that clip aside from (maybe) "he's shifty"?
Watch Lyle & Mallory's Spring Game highlights back to back.
Mallory gets upfield with more purpose & less hesitation. The results are better. This is why I'd already put Mallory ahead of Lyle.
You said Miami RB's rarely break long runs on their 1st 3 carries of a game. I showed they do.
You said Lyle didn't get early carries in 2024. I showed he did.
Did you acknowledge either? No. But you did respond with "you probably won't acknowledge my "Damien Da Gawd" argument"
You call me stats nerd. Look at how many stats are in your last post.
You say I don't see anything, I just look at stats. My post showing an actual play is my only post you haven't responded to
You said Fletcher was recovering from injury at the start of 2025. When I repeated that back to you, you said "What in the actual **** are you talking about?"
You said I'm not friendly, respectful, or nice. In this thread alone you've called me "thickheaded", "not all that bright", a "moronic stats nerd" "borderline ****tarded" and just plain "****tarded" and said that I "don't have knowledge", I'm "full of ****" and a "worthless ****-stain on this board, you contribute nothing" and I should "Get the **** out of here. No, literally, get the **** out of here".
What's the worst thing I've said to you?
Definitely agree if you think there's not much to take from that 1 play.
I'm just an example of a play where I understand someone seeing a positive where I see a negative.
The Spring game was my personal last straw with Lyle. The clip I posted matches what I see in his SOPH, FR & HS highlights.
IMO he's too slow/hesitant to go inside & not athletic enough to get the edge when he bounces outside.
The lack of athleticism / speed / quick cuts / explosiveness out of cuts are where IMO people are missing the mark with Lyle.
If his processing & decision making (ie when he actually decides to start going forward vs east/west) were better, then he could overcome the athleticism, but IMO he's a step too slow there too.

As I previously stated, I'm not picking sides on this. At least not until the season plays out. Once upon a time, I thought Lorenzo Lingard was going to be the second coming of Adrian Peterson. Guess what? I was wrong as fucc. How could I be so wrong? Because I formed that opinion based on seeing about 20 snaps of high school film. In my defense, he was a five star. Not in my defense is literally everything he accomplished on the gridiron after high school. My point is that so much can happen between age 17 and age 21 that it is really difficult to forecast without being on the field and in the classroom with the player for an extended period of time. I've seen about 4 highlights from Mallory and maybe a couple dozen from Lyle. I'm not qualified to make a call on this. Maybe you're right and TOC is wrong. Maybe it's the other way around. Once we have real empirical data, I'll be happy to join the debate.
Yes this is a cop out.
I, too, am waiting for a larger pool of empirical data before I ****porst some statistical hot-take garbage.
We've got Pringle - so we're good. He's going to make this whole discussion irrelevant. You are so full of ****.
You did NOT show that Miami's RBs frequently break long runs on their first 3 carries of a game. You are a liar.
You did NOT show that Lyle "got early carries in 2024". You are a liar.
You posted that Lyle ONCE in 11 games got a carry in the first quarter. A game in which he had a grand total of TWO carries. Why did he get that early carry? You don't know and you won't say. Maybe another player got hurt or got his helmet ripped off and Lyle had to go in for a play. Are you honestly trying to claim that, in a game where Lyle got TWO CARRIES and one was in the first quarter, that this constitutes getting early carries PLURAL? And a second game in which he had TWO CARRIES, with the first coming in the second quarter? Do you seriously think people are so dumb they will fall for your stats nerd bull****?
You're a stats nerd NOT because you cite statistics, but because you use them incorrectly and then mistakenly believe that you've proved your point, when you have done no such thing. "Stats" in my last post? Because I'm trying to show you that Martinez was the workhorse in 2024, not Lyle, and that Lyle's infrequent carries were not due to HIS inability, but were due to Martinez's superior production? How else am I supposed to show you that Martinez was the best and most productive running back on Miami's 2024 team?
As for your "poor little bshaw" bald-faced lie about how I responded to your question, please stop lying. Just stop it. I made it VERY clear to you that I wasn't answering your question on the injury, and I made it VERY clear to you that I was answering your SECOND question, which was flawed in its premise, since Fletcher was not "holding back" in the time-frame you cited ("mid-September").
You are an unintelligent little gnat who seems to think that injuries are either "100% go" or "100% no play". You can't see ANY gradations in between. Simply stated, the use of Lyle at the beginning of the first game was precautionary to allow Fletcher more time, but once Lyle HIMSELF was injured, our luxury of sitting Fletcher disappeared. And as I proved with the numbers, Fletcher got better and better during September, being used more and more, and racking up more yards.

Finally, it's amusing that you are trying to limit your history of ****porsts to this thread alone. People know what you're all about, as well as your tendencies to berate those who don't agree with your specious arguments. And while I'm sure you won't admit it, that is VERY different from what I do. People who make good arguments, whether I agree or not, are given respect. It's only the ****porsters such as yourself who have their ****porsts critiqued. Also, I don't start off negative. I tried to be polite with you a few times, but you kept doubling down on your bull**** stats.
Again, what is it going to take for you to admit that you were wrong? That Lyle's limited number of rushes in 2024 was due to Martinez's dominance, not some flaw of Lyle's? You had some song-and-dance about "not knowing why the coaches didn't use Lyle more in 2024", but when I proved how well Martinez played in 2024, you didn't even address it, you just accused me of providing "stats". Yesss....stats that actually PROVE why Lyle didn't have more carries in 2024.
Don't be jealous because I know how to use stats to make my case. It's my job, not just a hobby.
I missed big time on UFL legend Lorenzo Lingard tooAs I previously stated, I'm not picking sides on this. At least not until the season plays out. Once upon a time, I thought Lorenzo Lingard was going to be the second coming of Adrian Peterson. Guess what? I was wrong as fucc. How could I be so wrong? No - what I'm saying is be consistent in how you evaluate any player (which you're absolutely doing). So you're saying that if a true freshman gets about 50-60 carries and about 375-400 yards and 4 TDs, then "we're good".
Right, right, right...
Statistics and all...
No - what I'm saying is be consistent in how you evaluate any player (which you're absolutely doing).
Looking at their overall stats (which you're doing) shows Lyle avg 7.4 YPC & Pringle 6.0 YPC as FR. Both look great, Lyle looks better.
What I do (understand if you don't agree with it) is I'm more critical and look at the competition their gaining yards against.
I'm consistent in doing these 2 things to evaluate any player:
1) Eye Test 1st (always) - IMO Pringle looks better than Lyle
2) Stats - how did they perform against good competition? (understand if you don't agree with how I define "good". It's arbitrary)
Using the same Vs 5+ Win P4 Teams performance I used earlier in this thread (which I know you don't agree with - but to stay consistent)

Before hating on me for including Walton - it's to show I'm consistent in the "why" I don't like a RB (I'm happy to run the numbers with any RB anyone asks me to)
And I'll consistently say (no worries if you disagree) - "If a RB avgs 30 YPC vs USF but can't avg 3 YPC vs FSU - then he isn't very good"
Word on the streets is, there’s no video of evidence that Lyle was even in the car. So hopefully this new Attorney can get this thing dismissed ASAP?!Quick update from the legal side of things, Lyle terminated his Miami based representation and hired a broward guy who only focuses on criminal defense. Definitely the right move here. His new attorney is also a huge canes fan
agreed. seems scorned. i just respond with this meme.I say this with all sincerity.
As soon as I saw that you had prepared even more charts and graphs, I skipped your post and went straight to "reply".
Your statistical "analysis" is terrible. Absolutely awful. But you will ALWAYS double down on it. And I'm no longer going to kill brain cells by reading it.
