The CSC apparently will be investigating LSU for undeclared NIL deal(s)
What's interesting about this is that the CSC sent agreements to schools late last year laying out the CSC's jurisdiction and requiring schools to execute the agmt and be bound by it.
The problem is there was a lot of push back by schools and state AGs over the terms of the CSC agmt and it was never executed by the schools. Botton line is that as of today the CSC has not been empowered by schools to do its CSC things, like investigating and/or levying penalties.
What we have now is a situation where the CSC has decided to investigate LSU when neither LSU nor any other school has executed the CSC agmt accepting CSC jurisdiction.
The CSC is its own entity and can do what it likes. It can investigate until the cows come home. But it's not clear that LSU or any other school or player has to cooperate with the CSC let alone be subject to any punisment the CSC chooses to impose.
I'll be watching this play out with amusement...
