Louisiana has amended its NIL law

My sentiments exactly. That’s a perfect analogy, actually. I, too, want kids to get paid. ****, I been wanting them to get paid. I nvr understood why dudes would see their team jersey up for sale in the student store & wouldn’t get a dime, or a signed program being sold & no compensation was given. That always bothered me. However, how NIL is constructed now, it’s going to be the Yankees, Dodgers vs. everyone else, & u just have to hope ur evals are top notch along w/ some portal guys to make it work like The Braves & Astros.

Yeah you took that a step further which I think is right on. My hope is that we can be the braves or Astro’s (without the garbage cans). We’re in it for 10 or so five stars many on the lines and they will cost 500-1m… so this class will likely cost us 10-12… it can’t all be ruiz. A group of us are Working on a solution

I am very worried. Miami was very successful under the old system. This will lead to a unfair advantage for the SEC giving them a glimpse of hope they haven’t seen since yesterday…

Why is the NCAA needed again? This clearly violates the NCAA rules and LSU will not care about them because legally they can do whatever they want. Schools need to branch off the NCAA already and build their own athletic system/conference

Outside of Texas A&M and probably USC, Miami has benefitted the most from NIL. Alabama, LSU, Georgia and pretty much all the other sec good old boys were already paying kids. Without NIL, Miami can’t pay anyone anything/

So let me get this straight Louisiana schools can now openly market their student athletes along with boosters to basically pay them whatever they want. They can legit get together pay a QB 5mil a year, Gonna be free agency from this point on
One positive, kids will be happy to redshirt and play all 4 years.....at this rate, going to the NFL will be a pay cut. lol

Yes, we are a Ruiz business failure or death away from being one of the have-nots.

How about to give this at least a semblance of relating to academic institutes, how about mandate for every $1 in NIL agreements (and athletic donations of any kind for that matter), $1 must be donated to the general scholarship fund or other academic area of the university? The tax payer would benefit because fewer funds would have to be allocated from state and federal governments for college education.

States that are currently net "takers" from the federal coffers would have their dependence reduced a bit, more kids could afford to go to college, there would be less need for student loans. ****, the SEC would become the new Ivy League with that kind of academic fund influx. :6fps6:

Don't worry Rell, we play in a city!! Our zero businesses that care about Miami football will blow away these podunk towns in Louisiana! 🤣 🤣 🤣
[]__[] Miami has plenty of money, billionaire boosters who love football, and is a non-profit.

We'll be fine.

Billy Napier could have stayed in Louisiana. I wonder if would have been anti NIL under this new law.
