Power moves were made yesterday, he proved a lot of us wrong... I didn't think he had it in him

Wow Donna really messed this program up. Blake James is actually seeming like a competent AD now that she's gone.

He's bat flipping and pimpin this hire like Batista did in the playoffs. Good for Blake

my hats off to Blake James, now i understand why he so quiet during the coaching search. He was waiting patiently to make a power move.

The score is what counts and he scored. BTW, I know how much he thought of Davis and the staff when he was here during the last championship. Was probably disappointing to him that Chud would not interview and neither would Pagano. In the end he delivered and had 2 great fallback plans in Mullen and Davis.

I could have sworn he had to be forced to fire Al mid-season. Is this wrong?

Pretty strong rumor that James would have fired Golden after last season and Shalala and Miller vetoed it. No AD wants to fire a coach mid season. Good thing he did, because at 8-4, Golden would still be here unless he left for Rutgers.

Blake James is just the guy to give a high profile coach like Richt everything he needs along with making it clear that state of affairs would continue. If you are a football coach that wants to be powerful in the athletic department, Blake James is a nice "boss" to have.

Some may call that soft, but it seems like he is owning who he is and being **** successful in doing so. I'll take that to manage the results we've seen - veteran football and basketball coaches who appreciate the autonomy and respect they are afforded.
