Tell me about Bubba Franks, how good was he when he was at the U? Seems like he's one of the least talked about former players who went on to have a great career in the NFL.

First round pick and played 8 years in nfl. He was a scoring machine here and made some unbelievable catches

OMG.....he hauled in more passes ONE-HANDED than anyone I've ever seen in all my years watching Canes football. Bubba was the man.

Great hands.. Very big guy who could run and always seemed to find the endzone. One of my favorite Canes. Daniel "Bubba" Franks was a bad ***.

He was a sure target and when he stretched his body he made another 3 yards. He had soft hands, caught nearly anything that was thrown in his direction and was a tremendous blocker.

Loved him. Better than Winslow, IMO, as far as being a true tightend. As good as Shockey. If the ball was anywhere near him, it was a catch. Real good hands.

Bubba possessed meat hooks for hands. Snagged everything. Great find by Butch

Great player. Outstanding Cane. Tough ***, great hands. Better than Olsen, Winslow or Graham as UM player.

He was the first in a line of ridiculous probowl tight ends...

Franks
Shockey
Winslow
Olsen
Graham

not to mention guys like Everett, Ortega, Epps, and a few others I'm forgetting that ended up in the league.

Walford needs to pick it up and carry the water lol

Huge guy (6-6, 260), not particularly fast but a great blocker, nice route runner and great hands.

I remember him catching everything, being a very good blocker, and, while not a big YAC guy, he was a nightmare to bring down.

He was a complete TE. great hands , Good routes and a good blocker . Loved me some Bubba
